    Difference between Palestinians and Somalis.

When a house/building gets bombed in Gaza, they work together to rebuild it.

When the same happens in Somalia,
everyone fights over who will control the the destroyed building
    .

not the SL Republic. we've more or less built what was destroyed. although, according to my uncle, nothing was really destroyed. in fact, as he's told me on various occasions....nothing has been built since, too. :D:D

  2. ^ you should've made yourself more clear, ma garatay?

i've made a complete prat of myself. :P:mad:

oh by the way, we also receive ETV too ee sida uula soco, although i hardly watch that axmaar qashin. what are you trying to say? that the SL Republic isn't recognise? :D

  3. ^ i watch this channel ALL the time, you know. :D

abdi iley has single-handedly destroyed the will of the people of this region by bombarding and polluting their minds with absolute nonsense. i was recommended to watch this channel by my ethio friend. he said it was ''TV HEAVEN for propaganda and EPRDF hyperbole....''. i suppose, my friend's political loyalties, shouldnt really be put to the litmus test, since he's clearly ANTI-government, ma istidhi? :P i remember tuning in when meles died......the somali people were chanting strange stuff in Somali, which was probably a direct transliteration of Amharic. there are Ethiopian minders controlling the editorial line of ESTV and i have inside information purportedly supporting these arguments LOL.....:P

laakin my favourite show is abdi iley's weekly sermons. these resemble the Hugo Chavez type of public sermons. abdi iley doesn't probably know much about agriculture but i love his presence in being all knowledgeable of agricultural matters and repeating empty slogans like ''its up to the people to invest in their futures'' and ''the citizen has to be responsible''. classic stuff walahi. sort of reminds me of Saparmurat ''turkmenbashi'' Niyazov's cult of personality, eccentricities and strange personal idiosyncrasies. :D:p

It's not surprising. Merchants and traders throughout history have never allowed themselves to be limited by national borders, race relations or religion, they simply adapt and figure out ways to use these distinctions to their advantage. It's not limited to any particular race(s).
Look at how African-American migrants capitalized on the skills and knowledge gap between themselves and indegious residents of Liberia in the past.

that's sort of true, you know. Charlies Taylor was a descendant of those Americo-Liberian migrants.

i was browsing facebook and came across these pics. i won't bother with the organisation's details balse i found the whole thing very OFFENSIVE. :mad::mad:

i've noticed a growing trend of 'performing' for the cameras from donors. is it necessary for individual 'somali donors' or their organisations, who've sent, in kind, a few hundred US dollars to take PICTURES with the beneficiaries?

these 'do-good'ers' are lulling themselves into a false sense of piety, particularly when taking 'trophy-type' pictures with the poor people, who through no fault of their own, have been left destitute in the refugee camps, hospitals, orphanages and other places of poverty. this voyeur-like paternalism is DISGUSTING. let these people suffer in dignity and leave them ALONE. :mad::mad:
