Bottom line is, Ethiopia is an escape-goat and Somalis are only their own worst enemies.

He nailed it. Ethiopia is not stronger but at this moment they are dealing with weaker and divided people called Somali be it inside or outside. If anyone at anytime expect any good deed from Ethiopia then he is using wrong substance. Until Somalis come up with clear vision and strategy to deal with Ethiopia. We will be victim everywhere.

  4. You have two choices in life:You can stay single and

be miserable, or you can get married and wish you were

    dead.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

At a party, one woman said to another,"Aren't

you wearing your wedding ring on the wrong finger?"

The other woman replied, "Yes I am; I married the

    wrong man.

    -------------------------------------------------

A man inserted an 'ad' in the classifieds:"Wife

Wanted".The next day he received a hundred letters.

They all said the same thing: "You can have mine.

    --------------------------------------------------

When a woman steals your husband, there is no better

revenge than to let her keep him.

    --------------------------------------------------

A man is incomplete until she is married. Then she

    is finished.

    -----------------------------------------------------

    A little boy asked his father, "Daddy, how much does;

    it cost to get married?"

And the father replied, "I don't know son, I'm still

    paying."

    -----------------------------------------------------

Young son: "Is it true, Dad, that in some parts of

Africa, a man doesn't know his wife until he marries

her?" Dad: "That happens in every country, Son."

    ----------------------------------------------------

Then there was a woman who said, "I never knew what

real happiness was 'til I got married; and by then it

    was too late.

    ------------------------------------------------------

Marriage is the triumph of imagination over

    intelligence.

    ------------------------------------------------------

If you want your spouse to listen and pay strict

attention to every word you say, talk in your sleep.

    ------------------------------------------------------

Just think, if it weren't for marriage, men would go

through life thinking they had no faults at all.

    ------------------------------------------------------

First Guy: "My wife's an angel." Second Guy: "You're

    lucky; mine's still alive."

    ------------------------------------------------------

Women will never be equal to men until they can walk

down the street with a bald head and a beer gut, and

still think they are attractive to the opposite sex.

Teacher: What do you call a person who keeps on talking when people are no

    longer interested?

    Pupil: A teacher

  6. NAIROBI, Nov. 13 (Xinhuanet) -- Somalia's new Prime Minister Ali Mohammed Ghedi has expressed his belief that his nation stands at a historic turning point and there is unprecedented momentum in the fractured country for change, local newspaper The Standard reported on Saturday.

In the first interview since his appointment last week, Ghedi disclosed that "I see us going to Somalia early next year, most likely January or February. As soon as I name the cabinet, we willbe sending missions to Somalia to assess the situation on the ground and to create the necessary awareness about our political, social and economic goals for the people."

The new Federal Republic of Somalia would be guided by three principles -- reconciliation, reconstruction and recovery, he said, adding that "if you take responsibility, you must address the challenges."

According to the prime minister, reconciliation is the first important thing in the Horn of Africa country. He maintains that there are no more warlords or faction leaders, because they were accommodated during peace talks in Kenya, becoming members of parliament in the Republic of Somalia. By following the peace process, they have accepted peace and are now part of the new Somali government.

The task ahead for the new government is enormous and challenging, but with the reconciliation continuing, the main workinvolves ensuring security, restoring law and order and the beginning of reconstruction activities, he said.

Somali President Abdullahi Yusuf Ahmed on Nov. 6 appointed the 51 year-old animal doctor Ali Mohammed Ghedi as the prime ministerand asked him to form the Transitional Federal Government for the country in a period of one month.

"I pledge to form a government of reconciliation and reconstruction which will restore good relations in the region andI urge my fellow Somalis to support me as I embark on the task of building Somalia," Ghedi said upon his appointment.

Somalia has been without an effective government since 1991 when the regime of Muhammed Siad Barre was toppled, following which the country plunged into anarchy and factional violence.

Since the breakdown of the Somali central government, conflict and famine have killed hundreds of thousands of people.

Under the auspices of the Inter-Governmental Authority on Development, which groups Djibouti, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Kenya, Sudan, Uganda and Somalia, Somali National Reconciliation Conference began in October 2002 in the western Kenyan town of Eldoret, and was moved to Nairobi in February 2003.

As a result of the conference, Somali Transitional President Abdullahi Yusuf Ahmed was inaugurated on Oct. 14 in Nairobi.

Ghedi admitted that the task of reconstruction and recovery areenormous after a decade and a half of civil war that has devastated the country and left millions of Somalis dead, maimed or displaced.

However, the momentum of the Somali people in supporting the new president and his appointment as prime minister is overwhelming and would provide the inspiration needed to chart Somalia's future, he said.

The pulse of the Somali nation is beginning to beat again. There is optimism in the air as the government sets up structures and institutions in readiness for its return, according to the prime minister.

"The people of Somalia are still celebrating the birth of a newbaby, the rebirth of Somalia and they are eagerly waiting to welcome their new government home with open arms so that it can provide them with the expected social and economic services," saidGhedi. Enditem

  7. IL Capo, i dont know about that and i have never read anything on that mater whereas, when i saw him ding that little crossing thing i was shocked  Since then i came to conclusion that is not Muslim. Probably i could be wrong.

Yo Bachela u went to college wit Tariq Abdul Wahid. how old r u bro??? jus wonderin

I could say None of your business!! but again, it is rude. The biggest problem of good discussion is when you dont stick with the subject. My question to you is, when did i say i went to college with Tariq? Anyways, to squash your "wondering curiousity", My elder sister celebrates her 22th birthday every year and I am stuck at 21. ;) go figure as wiilo says

  8. but I really really doubt if El Hadji Diouf fasts because the guy behaves like he is lunatic,

ILKA, lets the doubt be rest once and for all. SXB i have seen El Hadji doing the crossing thing (touching the forehead and both side of the shoulder) not once but twice. When he was playing for L/pool. I dont think he is that good player though honestly, he deosnt carry himself professionally.

I remember when Shariif Abdul Rahim were playing for neigbouring college at UC Barkeley during the ramadan. The coach would prefare raod game since his main guy wont obligated to fast. When he was asked about Shariif Abdul Rahim manage to fast and preform in such a great talent he said "AMAZING!!I couldnt even coach without drinking almost a gallon of water, let alone to play for 48 min." . Also there is one NBA player who played for my school(NCAA)Tariq Abdul Wahid. Orginally from France i guess.

  9. Dear Friends,

Ok, it sucks. Really sucks. But before you go and cash it all in, let's, in

the words of Monty Python, 'always look on the bright side of life!' There

IS some good news from Tuesday's election.

Here are 17 reasons not to slit your wrists:

    1. It is against the law for George W. Bush to run for president again.

    2. Bush's victory was the NARROWEST win for a sitting president since

    Woodrow Wilson in 1916.

    3. The only age group in which the majority voted for Kerry was young adults (Kerry: 54%, Bush: 44%), proving once again that your parents are always wrong and you should never listen to them.

    4. In spite of Bush's win, the majority of Americans still think the

country is headed in the wrong direction (56%), think the war wasn't worth fighting (51%), and don't approve of the job George W. Bush is doing (52%). (Note to foreigners: Don't try to figure this one out. It's an American thing, like Pop Tarts.)

    5. The Republicans will not have a filibuster-proof 60-seat majority in the

Senate. If the Democrats do their job, Bush won't be able to pack the

Supreme Court with right-wing ideologues. Did I say "if the Democrats do

their job?" Um, maybe better to scratch this one.

    6. Michigan voted for Kerry! So did the entire Northeast, the birthplace of

our democracy. So did 6 of the 8 Great Lakes States. And the whole West

Coast! Plus Hawaii. Ok, that's a start. We've got most of the fresh water,

all of Broadway, and Mt. St. Helens. We can dehydrate them or bury them in lava. And no more show tunes!

    7. Once again we are reminded that the buckeye is a nut, and not just any

old nut -- a poisonous nut. A great nation was felled by a poisonous nut.

May Ohio State pay dearly this Saturday when it faces Michigan.

    8. 88% of Bush's support came from white voters. In 50 years, America will no longer have a white majority. Hey, 50 years isn't such a long time! If you're ten years old and reading this, your golden years will be truly

golden and you will be well cared for in your old age.

    9. Gays, thanks to the ballot measures passed on Tuesday, cannot get married in 11 new states. Thank God. Just think of all those weddingts we won't have to buy now.

    10. Five more African Americans were elected as members of Congress,

including the return of Cynthia McKinney of Georgia. It's always good to

have more blacks in there fighting for us and doing the job our candidates

    can't.

    11. The CEO of Coors was defeated for Senate in Colorado. Drink up!

    12. Admit it: We like the Bush twins and we don't want them to go away.

    13. At the state legislative level, Democrats picked up a net of at least 3

chambers in Tuesday's elections. Of the 98 partisan-controlled state

legislative chambers (house/assembly and senate), Democrats went into the 2004 elections in control of 44 chambers, Republicans controlled 53

chambers, and 1 chamber was tied. After Tuesday, Democrats now control 47 chambers, Republicans control 49 chambers, 1 chamber is tied and 1 chamber (Montana House) is still undecided.

    14. Bush is now a lame duck president. He will have no greater moment than the one he's having this week. It's all downhill for him from here on out --and, more significantly, he's just not going to want to do all the hard work that will be expected of him. It'll be like everyone's last month in 12th grade -- you've already made it, so it's party time! Perhaps he'll treat the next four years like a permanent Friday, spending even more time at the ranch or in Kennebunkport. And why shouldn't he? He's already proved his point, avenged his father and kicked ourA.S.S.

    15. Should Bush decide to show up to work and take this country down a very dark road, it is also just as likely that either of the following two

scenarios will happen: a) Now that he doesn't ever need to pander to the

Christian conservatives again to get elected, someone may whisper in his ear that he should spend these last four years building "a legacy" so that

history will render a kinder verdict on him and thus he will not push for

too aggressive a right-wing agenda; or b) He will become so and

arrogant -- and thus, reckless -- that he will commit a blunder of such

major proportions that even his own party will have to remove him from

    office.

    16. There are nearly 300 million Americans -- 200 million of them of voting

age. We only lost by three and a half million! That's not a landslide -- it

means we're almost there. Imagine losing by 20 million. If you had 58 yards to go before you reached the goal line and then you barreled down 55 of those yards, would you stop on the three yard line, pick up the ball and go home crying -- especially when you get to start the next down on the three yard line? Of course not! Buck up! Have hope! More sports analogies are coming!!!

    17. Finally and most importantly, over 55 million Americans voted for the

candidate dubbed "The #1 Liberal in the Senate." That's more than the total number of voters who voted for either Reagan, Bush I, Clinton or Gore.

Again, more people voted for Kerry than Reagan. If the media are looking for a trend it should be this -- that so many Americans were, for the first time

since Kennedy, willing to vote for an out-and-out liberal. The country has

always been filled with evangelicals -- that is not news. What IS news is

that so many people have shifted toward a Massachusetts liberal. In fact,

that's BIG news. Which means, don't expect the mainstream media, the ones who brought you the Iraq War, to ever report the real truth about November 2, 2004. In fact, it's better that they don't. We'll need the element of

    surprise in 2008.

Feeling better? I hope so. As my friend Mort wrote me yesterday, "My

Romanian grandfather used to say to me, 'Remember, Morton, this is such a wonderful country -- it doesn't even need a president!'"

But it needs us. Rest up, I'll write you again tomorrow.

    Yours,

    Michael Moore

  10. ILAHAY HA U NAXARSITO whether he is dead or alive. Rumers are circulating that he is in his last minuts of his life. But again, who trust this media lately!! Ameena tnx it is great topic walaal.

What will this mean for Palestine; considering the Israelis are exhausting the ‘war’ on Terror pretext? Are they Palestine’s only hope?

With Bush's new election he will support Israel more than ever. Arafat is considered a terrorist by the US and Israeli govt. But also Palestinian militants considered him a sellout and too moderate (weak). Now with the death of Arafat, there will be power vacuum very likley not be any dialogue and further moves toward peace process. I see a further instablity and more innocent death, land grabing and injustice.

As far as i am concern, Remember at first, Arafat was considered a terrorist then with Aslo peace process he become the "good guy" and rewarded a noble peace prize again the poor guy is lebeled as a terriost  what do you call such an act, that is right hypocrcy. I will give this guy a "C-" for his regim was and still is corrput according to..worldtribune.. and his poor people pay the price. "His personal fortune has been estimated at between $2 and $3 billion, most of it in Swiss bank accounts". Most likely the successor would be picked by Israel and US. That is for sure, which tells you everything.

  11. Not about the winner or losser it is about who represent you better. Guys the state i am in is already known for its strong hold for Democrate. Both, John Karry and Boosh never bother to come here since they know the outcome. So, that in mind, i needed to deffer and express the furstration with two party system.

  12. Lucky: here is the three most important state ballet for us YES on prop 66 that is the three strick law. This law mainly affected the poor and minorities. NO prop 71 Stem Cell supported by pharmacutical company and tax payer will carry the burden some say it is pre clonning but i dont know to that. And the NO to the Indian casino prop i dont recall exactly but i guess it is prop 63....Yes, why dont you guys nominate one farax or xalimo ;)

Fiance: A great deal of "grass root" movement is going on to change things so people would have more choice than merely two party. It will take time many people are getting feed up with two system party. For sure i will ask the "write-in" thing but I would very much love to see Ralph on our ballot but unfortunately he is not (that is what i heared). As far as i am concerned and since i have seen/heared these guys in person i would go for Divid Cobb.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL AND NEXT TIME HOPEFULLY THE MORON WILL BE A "FORMER PRESIDENT"

  13. There are lots of proposals or measurs that will confuse you. What you need to do is just go over each proposal before you go to the voting place. DO THE HOMEWORK DEE. They been sending all the info.

I would love to vote for Nader if not for Green party Devid Cobb, but they are not in the ballet in this state. I have attended both, when they gave speech in a USF. Both are our "Ideal" candidates HADANU MUSLIIM NAHAY by far things would have been better. Had they been elected. Although JK isnt any better i would go for the "lesser evil".

This year We are going to use Computer, even though there are few glitches. Good lucky down in south. you guys should have one somali dude in ballet.

    ;)

  14. Very annoying. Specially where there is poor public trasportation such as S/Valley. Where lots of rich people reside a hard working class nomad as me is feeling the pressure. Where i am at the price is range from $ 2.35-$2.40 Premimum unleaded (87).

Anyways, as of lately i been thinking how the African Goverment survive in $50 + a barrel? Specially the new Somalia goverment? Dont you guys think they should be subsidze by the good brothers (the Arabs) ?
