  1. So Somalia I have firehand eyewitness accounts from a lady who went there with her all whole family. I've asked her kids too who have said nothing but bad comments!!! So there is not much to learn from there ee iyaga ayaaba yaaban!!! So bro no matter what is said here or anywhere will not beat first eye-witness accounts.

Infact I will be speaking to badhan guy soon regarding his trip to garowe his wife is reer garowe and they just finished building their house and he went there for 1 month to confirm it. Apparently my mom said he was non-stop showering praises at garowe development and lifestyle. But I will need to get into the nitty gritty with him on personal level like health, electricity, water, education, investment, standard of living and so forth!!!

  2. Somalia learn from what? does hargeisa have this? Besides my aunt who is reer mogadishu already has been to hargeisa so I already know what it's about, She was telling me the other week about it. She lived in xafada aden garash or something like that which is an area with alot of people from mogadishu. She told me that electricity comes on at 8:00 am shuts off at 12:00 pm. From 12:00 mid-day till 5:00 pm in the afternoon there is no electricity. The electricity then comes back at 5:00 and goes through till 12:00 mid-night which is then absent for another 8 hours till 8:00 in the morning.

She also said they have only 3 roads in hargeisa and most it is under bad repair, catching a bus ride to the city can be deadly matter with the amount of pot-holes there. She said the economy is really bad since they changed from the somali shilling nobody can afford anything. A good house to rent is $200-300 monthly and basic items in market there is four times the price of anywhere in Somalia. So she said dont be suprised if u see someone just fall right in front of you due to hunger because nobody can afford anything. She said her husband mother who's also reer mogadishu but her other kids are somaliland came down to see them at hargeisa and she told them who in Burco it was better there the market rates because it was still in-line with general economic conditions of Somalia and they used the somali shilling.

My aunt further-more told me they haven't dug one well in hargeisa their still using siyad-barre infrastructure and that water is hard commodity to come by there and that make sense because the former prime minister also joked about how he would dig a well for hargeisa. She used an example saying a good house in mogadishu wont cost you more then $50-100 monthly its double and triple in hargeisa and she said forget about shopping at the suuq noone can afford it. The electricity monthly costs $100 which is not even constant.

She also mentioned the reason why you will find the locals struggling so much is that the hargeisa folks dont eat together dhaqan weyn uma ahaa they wont give even their own starving a cent where-as in mogadishu she said dadka hal meel bay ka wada cunan.

She also security is not 100% peaceful there. At night people come in the districts trying to climb over people front gates and you will gun-shots regularly. She also said if they find out your reer hamar in hargeisa you will need to pay double what everyone else pays for the same item. Thats when she said she saw a puntlandi journalist there who said to her "war dadkan ma fiyowbo maxad meeshan uu timadeen maxad anaga inoo soo qixi wayseen where the people are lot more friendly, no discrimination as far as employment and opportunities is concerned and market is alot more booming and stable"

She also said hargeisa weather can get really chilling at times where you will need blanket at night and really hot Two extremes bay lee yihin. She also said its not hamar its dhagax meel walbo and she said if u have shoes it wont last for longer then a month because it will get torn up very quickly. She said all the agriculture is non-existant and they truck in everything from mogadishu or ethiopia which is why prices are sooooooo inflated compared to hamar.

She also mentioned hilib malaha you will not see camel in hargeisa its not a dhaqtan for them to have camels. The goats have no leaves to eat cause of the rocky environment so they eat the left over khat trees. She said the hilib is rock hard there nothing like hamar and she said alot of the hargeisa folks she used to talk with all wish they could go back to hamar. She said gelato non-existant they have some pathetic thing which is like milk but they call it gelato lol!!!

Ill ask her next time regarding education and stuff and health facilities I forgot that!!!

  3. Finally the bossaso admin not only proved they recovered from an assasination to one of the top shaykhs and market burning down they got the courage to clean it up, started rebuilding sections of it the destroyed market, opened up a new market in the north bosaso section dayax. Gave a gift to the IDPS for their hard work in the past couple of days. Confirmed Business is still ticking over in the city that never sleeps. But as we know Bosaso t They went one step further they started planning for the future. A high level delegation including all governors, mayors, elders and business community of each state went to djibouti to take part in the JPLG program to start long-term projects which span a couple of years in many cities around the region. Please note that Puntland is attending important conferences next year in kenya. So it's timetable is all planned out!!! Below is some pics of the high delegation leaving bosaso going to djibouti to take part in the planning of the long-term high impact project for the region!!!

  4. Bossaso Admin finally calmed down worried hearts in Puntland that the city will rise up from this challenge some thought it was over others thought the city of enterpreneurs where rocks have been turned into gold is out. How wrong were they? The Bosaso admin first gave a gift to the IDPS our fellow bossaso citizens who truly helped in the rebuilding and clean up phase of these disasters. Your present is solar street lighting in the camps!!!

Round-table discussion between the mayor of bosaso and district councillors regarding the solor street lighting projects for two camps. Mind you these have already been successfully done before at camp saylada xoolaha

Notice the successful projects already completed for the IDPS by just one NGO. I love the transparency and auditing leads to good governance

    Jacbureyshin-088.jpg

  5. Then came this project rehabilitating 4 roads and completing the 3km paved road from the airport to the governor's house

The mayor leading by example by rolling up his sleeves and getting his hands dirty

Then came the shocking news of how the bosaso government is not assisting the bread-winners of the city their money back which they paid in advance for years to rent their spot in the market.

    Suuq-013.jpg

    Suuq-014.jpg

As you can all see it's been topsy turvy ride at Bosaso and at times my spirit goes high then it comes back down low when hearing stories of the hustlers in the city being hustled by their own government!!! Then again it's Bosaso the fastest paced City in Somalia where nothing is the same on any given day which can explain why i get happy for one hour and the next hour devastated all in one day. Thats Bosaso for you love it or weep!!!

  6. After that devastation I couldn't handle it and was praying for some good news!!! And finally my prayers were answered. The Bosaso Administration has found new market place for the traders and this time urban planning was a key issue taken aboard so that another tragedy like that doesn't occur again. Then came hope!!!

Then came the excellent news of a new site chosen as the new market of the city in the northern suburbs of Bosaso

  7. Then came the devastating news shortly after the fire that Dr. Ahmed Haji Abdirahman one of the biggest shaykhs in the city was killed in a cold bloody murder. If it wasn't bad enough going through the fire tragedy and the clean up process just to find out one of the biggest shaykhs was slain after he was giving sermon on how to respond to the tragedy that has occurred to the market Definitely affected morale in the citizen and the district government.

  8. As your all aware the city of Bosaso has suffered one of it's worst fires in history which burned down a big portion of the City's market. The people have rose back up and started from scratch kind of like how Bosaso city was started from scratch in the 90s. The un-matched spirit of these folks should not go un-noticed and all Somalis should learn from it. Now as far as the local council is concerned they have done alright in regards to their responses to the fire but I just got news that local traders paid rent years in advance at the stalls in the city and noone is giving them back their money. I see this as a disgrace!!!

Lets start on the positive note from the way I view the crisis!!! When everybody saw this they thought its over for Bosaso!!!

  9. Cant believe i've been active on these forums for 2 years now. Time goes by quick thats for sure. But I seen alot change in Puntland some good and some not so good but I've become alot wiser then I was 2 years ago where I know things at a more educated level!!!

  10. Ok this is beyond a joke. You cant have sub sub clan states. Puntland is 5 regions man..Azania is 2 regions and somaliland is 3 regions they are the only ones who fullfill the guidelines set in the constitution 2 or more states wa very clear.

I just saw that pic hiiran midland and hiiran state..war nimankan i think they just wanna federalism look like a joke. Go read the constitution boys!!!

  12. Somalina the situation is very grim. If they kill your educated elites who is going to have the brain-power to make us progress? If they kill our shaykhs who going to teach our kids whats right and wrong? If they kill our business community who is going to provide work for our youth? If they kill our officials and nominated leaders who is going to lead us?

Arintu ma ficno meesha manta puntland laga dileyo kaftan ma aha and I dont find it funny one bit, it is serious issue and it needs to end and its needs to END NOWWWWWWWWWW or we will be one day like those folks of maryan mursal who exist as population but have no power because of a lack of leadership, if this garbage is not put to an end immediately.

I don't believe the issue is with galmudug they maybe playing small role like taking in enemies or criminals of puntland in their districts but the issue is mainly an internal one and farole needs to stop ducking it because if it was external issue the first place to be targetted would be garowe and the cabinet it is where the government sits not bosaso or galkayo.

The only logical explaination i've heard is that it is former ministers who are disgruntled with farole sacking them in his cabinet re-shuffle like ina samatar and gaagaab. Gaagaab being local in galkayo is probably plotting all this in galkayo so the ppl can rise up against farole and the clan-elders call for an emergency shir wada tashi and remove farole and I guess ina samatar is doing the same thing in Bosaso plotting assasinations of important people so the bosaso people rise up against farole and cause an instability to such a stage that puntland will need to have new president immediately and their hopeing they get the spot.

That's what make sense to me!!! I see a clear motive they want the president seat and some of them have already declared their presdential intentions like ina samatar who said his running for presidency august 2012. They are obviously disgrunted cause they got sacked. The problems are happening in their home-towns which indicates they getting runners to pull of these hits and those runners are getting the blame when its not them its coming from a long way away!!!

But I just wish I could tell ina samatar and gagaab if they play this sort of game even if they get the presidency how do they think they going to live in peace in garowe with the locals and not only that but this will open a can of worms where whoever is sacked will just go do assasinations and cause instability so that the president can be sacked its just a never-ending cycle of violence noone wins so I dont understand why they would be doing this? Its political suicide in the long-term. If u treat the current president bad when its your turn you will get exactly the same thing from that's president sub-clan.

A batch of 6 of Armed Helicopters

For all the doubters regarding Puntland's airforce it's very true. A Recent report done by the U.N blasted the Puntland govt for allowing saracen to create an air-strip so it can land and take off the helicopters for the marines. That what some of the excavation equipment that docked down at Bosaso Port was used for to build a strip of landing space for the helicopters and also develop the Marine Command Center. So no its not jet-fighters, drones, or small airplanes. Its HELICOPTERS and 6 of those mean babies!!! Confirmation is below

Garoonkan yar oo ah mid macal ah ayaa qiyaastii 2-km u jira garoonka weyn ee Benderqasin Airport ee Boosaaso. Waxaana sida la sheegay garoonka iska leh shirkadda Saracen oo aan cidna ku maamulin.

Garoonka maamulkiisa ma hoostago wasaaradda duulista ee Puntland, sidoo kalana waxba lagama oga hawlaha ay Saracen ku qabato garoonka. Waxaa la sheegay in diyaarado nooca helicopter-ka ay habeenkii ku soo degaan garoonka, isla markaana ciidamo hubeysan ay ku sugan yihiin garoonka.

I hope you all enjoyed this insightful thread putting together all the various available internet information into 1 regarding the Puntland Security Sector and I am sure alot more goodies will be made available with due time!!!
