Farmaajo is calling leaders and is trying to solve the gulf issue it seems.

Egypt's President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call from his Somali counterpart President Mohamed Abdullahi in which he praised Cairo's support for Mogadishu's efforts to restore order and stability in the country, El-Sisi's office said in a statement. The two leaders discussed recent developments in Somalia as well as the Somali government's efforts to restore stability in the war-torn country, where the central government in Mogadishu has for years been battling an insurgency by the Al-Qaeda-linked Al-Shabaab group.

April 15, 2018 (KHARTOUM) - Sudan’s President Omer al-Bashir and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia Sunday discussed bilateral relations in a meeting held on the sidelines of the 29th Arab Summit in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.

"During the meeting, they reviewed the bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and the opportunities to develop it in various fields. In addition, (they discussed) the latest developments in the region and the efforts exerted towards them," said the official Saudi news agency after the meeting.

For his part, Foreign Minister Ibrahim Ghandour who attended the meeting told SUNA that the Crown Prince praised Sudan’s role in common Arab issues and its contribution to regional security and stability.

Sudan is part of the Saudi-led which includes eight African and Middle East countries, in support of the UN-backed government of President Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi which fights Houthi rebels.

In its final communiqué, the Arab summit reaffirmed its full solidarity with Sudan to safeguard the national sovereignty of the country and to consolidate peace, security and development.

Also, the meeting declared its support to Sudanese efforts "to benefit from the initiative of international financial institutions for heavily indebted countries".

Saudi Arabia’s King Salman on Sunday dubbed the Arab League meeting the “Jerusalem summit” and criticized the U.S. over Jerusalem.

The Monarque further announced a $150 million donation for the maintenance of Islamic heritage, Aqsa mosque, in the eastern part of Jerusalem

We want to get out of the tribal league of the ARabs. How about that.

The EU is dynamic, the ASEAN countries trade with one another, the South American Mercosur group is thriving, but this triballeague  hasn't stopped any war in their region and does not enhance bilateral trade.

Farmaajo is  just responding with the offer from their foreign minister of UAE who said that he accepts the sovereignty of Somalia and wants to help humanitarian needs of Somaliland.

It is a good move. Other than few cash in the bag, Saudis are useless in terms of building capacity and enhancing trade.

Some on Twitter are saying his repeated request to meet with UAE and Saudi Arabia was ignored. If true, this is becoming coordinated by the Arab League members.

Mr. Dahireto,

Saaxiib waan ku soo qabanaye sow ma aragtid.

You kids might not understand but the Somali state is the most strategic nation on earth. Everyone want a piece of Somalia. We have suffered a lot, yet we are resilient and we are still here. What worse can anyone do to us. Famine, Warlordism, anarchy, civil war, secession , death in the high seas and much more, and we are still standing and Allah willing to rule the horn of Africa soon.

No one can hurt us let alone the Gulf play boys.

In terms of the Saudis, I do not want any " Fitna" to fall upon Makkah and Madinah.

You are rolling today. I like your enthusiasm. I also like your decision making in split seconds. Its amazing how you always deal from position of strength.

BTW Somalia is not most strategic even in Africa let alone the world. Egypt is most strategic location, then Turkey and so on. Check history. Every empire known to man, except far east all went and conquered Egypt. Even the weakest empires or group of friends.

Somalia for the most part was untouched until the Dutch and portugues tried Kismayu and Zeila and then every joe like Oman, or Joel like Italian, French, Ottoman, Persian, British came.
