Turks will be more justicious especially on their way up

Will be more fair in their operations

Will be more co-operative and joint benefit

We are reduced to chosing who should be ahead of us, who should be our protector, who should be our benefactor..sad but if we are not capable being in top group the next best thing is be independent and the third next best is choose your kind of overlord.

I would pick turks any day.

I am choosing UAE :D

A lot of people are.

We are all reduced to choosing overlording countries. So sad, but now every country seems to be doing that. China, US, EU (whatever will be left soon), India, Gulf, Turkey...

The whole world is sensing change of empires, but afraid of the termoil and wars that accompany change of empires.

Yours is not a bad choice. UAE if fairly independent. Not so close to Saudis as it looks, and still in touch with Russia as well.

Changing world.Ten Muslim countries are predicted to be the top 30 economies in the world by 2030.

Turkey, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Bangladesh,  Iran, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, UEA, and Indonesia. These countries either got large population or oil and other valuable minerals. There are others with the large population who could be the list like Egypt and Algeria but has other issues.

The none Muslim countries who also could make the list include South Africa, Mexico, Argentina, and Vietnam. A lot of Europian countries will lose its high rankings.

Some countries you have are simply there for population. Actually too much population is a drag in most cases.

The population of Canada and US was equal some 150 years ago. Now is 10:1 US:Canada but the economy is are in the same G7 and Canada 1.5 trillion and US 11 trillion.

Countries like Nigeria are going no where, pretty soon the country may split. There is a level of economy to sustain people. Nigeria is close to 200 million people.

Europeans will have the advantage for longer time than you think. They still have best universities.

You also left Israel, maybe is political, but it will be one of the top 10 countries in short order. Again is knowledge based economy and small population. You have to make 10 million textile socks to pay for one missile Israel can sell.

That is why Turkey is moving making socks and shirts to Ethiopia, so turkey can focus its resources on high value products.

.You are right about high value products. But like how  China started, it comes later time. Turkey has already received some success in the area of electronics and defence systems. But also they have large diverse economy from tourism to Agriculture. With it is location from Black sea to Midderean sea and culture, it has huge potential to be number one in European continent.

The other countries, I mention have sustained  high rate of growth and a lot of  young population which, now developed countries lacks. For example Japan with it is all success, their population is getting older, villages are desapparing. This has already impact and european countries with zero population growth are already losing ranking. Nederland has a population about 16 million for decades and need of immigrants labor.

Big population , economic growth and technological transformation have lifted many countries. Imagine in the year 2000, China had little over a trillion GDP. in 2010, it reached almost five  trillion and in 2017 , it is  11.9 trillion.

That means it doubled within seven years. In 2030, China is predicted to reach 35 trillion.

Artificial countries like UAE might not even reach to be a state in 2030. They are trying to chew more than they could swallow and eventually these misadventures will catch up to them. They are the worst  MUslim hypocrite the world have even seen. Out of the nine million population, only 10% is Emirati citizens. Sooner or later that population will demand freedom and basic rights which could engulf the despots.

If another war comes in the gulf led by Mike Pompeo , the neocons and Trump, UAE will be the first country to be burned by Iran and others. Be careful for what you wish.

galbeedi,

That is why they bring from conflicting countries. If they have half million Pakistani they bring half million Indians, if they take 100000 Somali they will get 100000 Yemeni or Xabeshi, if they have Sudanese generals they will have Egyptian intelligence. On top of that they have latest spywares and technologies. It seems is well thought out.

Exactly and if they survive they will pay for rest of their life for protection and "liberation" money. Kwait is still paying for the "liberation" of 1992.

Mr Galbeedi, the world does not work the way you would like it to work - those you hate(UAE, Somaliland) get destroyed and those you love(Koonfuria, Turkey) prosper. UAE will still be a very wealthy and influencial country in 50 years time inshaallah markaa habaarka jooji. Indeed no country is more artificial today than that of villa AMISOM and Turkey might even lose its Kurdish region. Their oppression of the Kurdish people can only be tolerated so much.

Tallaabo,

I understand that UAE's place and role at this time is necessary for Somaliland and also for Ethiopia (mainly Somali kilil) as well as if things work out for Somalia as well, but I wouldn't go on a limb for half a century. That is the time it took the British empire to go from start of decline, to complete collapse and be an American client state.

It took the Soviets from decline to collapse about 20 years.

What ever goes up must come down. The difference is coming back again like the Chinese are doing for 4th time and Persians for 3rd time, Ottomans working on 1st comeback. The British are done, just like Portugal, Spain, Dutch and soon French empires.

The Russian empire is coming back.

Tallaabo,

I hate UAE but not Somaliland. I might not like the Jeegaan administration, but I do not hate the people.

The UAE is really very dangerous. They are working for the colonial powers. Two days ago, Turkey took over Afrin without huge damage and transferred the town to the rightful owners the Syria. THe UAE foreign minister said, " Turkey is disrespecting  interfering Arab countries". They were the ones who armed the opposition to topple Assad of Syria, yet now that Turkey is clearing the land for the refugee to settle back the land they are attacking Turkey.

They are dividing Yemen , Calling Djibouti " Xayawaan", preparing war with Iran , attacking Somalia, Tunisia, and many other Muslim countries. Money cannot buy everything.

I agree with  OLd O on this. OLd empires will decline no doubt.  The oil money will be done sooner than you think. IMagine, why would a Somali, Yemeni, Sudanese or An African businessman would go to Dubai. They do not manufacturing anything, everything comes from China or other places. WE would go to China and other places and bring home directly with our own ports. Banking and other finacial institutions would be created in Nairobi, Mogadishu  and Addis , if the later survives the ORomo revolution.

Dubai will be done. THey keep calling for war and destruction, and their wish will come. The next gulf war will center in Dubai. THe last want destroyed historical cities like Baghdad , Aleppo and Adden. The next one will decimate Dubai and Abu Dubai. I have no doubt about that. If the Saudis do not change their behaviour, the " Fitna" might reach first in Riyadh and Jeddah, and finally the holy land (Makkah and Medina).

The Arab nations are the only group of leaders who will do whatever it takes to stay in power and  kill their own people regardless of the cost. .Sooner or later they will pay for their crimes.

The Arab Sheikhdoms are family-run enterprises not a proper nation-state like Turkey or Iran or even Syria who stood against sever years of foreign assault.

Whether they will exist or not, who knows. Politics of the world will continue shifting, new countries will come into being or countries will gave away to something else. Nations and empires rise and fall.

P.s. I don't really don't see them going to war with Iran or Shiite Islam who now essentially control the Levant, Mesopotamia. Even Israelis are learning to live with Iran. They have tried to get uncle Sam to war with Iran with little success.

Turkey’s National Intelligence Organization (MİT) has brought three members of the Fethullahist Terrorist Organization (FETÖ) from the Central African country Gabon to the Turkish capital Ankara, state-run Anadolu Agency reported on April 10.
Osman Özpınar, İbrahim Akbaş, and Adnan Demirönal, who are believed to be senior members of FETÖ, were detained by Gabon’s security forces on March 23 and transferred from Gabon’s capital Libreville to Ankara by the MİT on a private jet.
A court in the Turkish capital Ankara and a district court in the Central Anatolian province of Konya have issued arrest warrants for Özpınar, the principal of the Gabon Turkish International School and the director of the Light Academy in Kenya.
Warrants have also been issued for Akbaş and Demirönal, former managers of the Ecole Privée International Turco-Gabon. Akbaş was reportedly in charge of money transactions between FETÖ members in Europe and Africa.
All three suspects were users of ByLock, an encrypted mobile phone application used by FETÖ members to communicate during and after the 2016 coup attempt, it was reported.
Some $20,800, 12 million Central African Francs and communication devices found on the suspects were confiscated.

Sudan, Qatar to sign $4 billion deal to develop Suakin seaport

March 2, 2016 (KHARTOUM) - Sudan and Qatar on Monday will sign a partnership agreement worth 4.0 billion dollars to develop and manage Suakin Port in eastern Sudan on the Red Sea.
Sudan has been deprived of foreign investment in its Red Sea ports and terminals due to the economic sanctions on the country while many state and private funds for strategic and commercial reasons invested huge amounts of money in the profitable marine terminal management in different countries in the region.
The deal was announced by the Sudanese Minister of Transport, Roads and Bridges Makkawi Mohamed Awad in a joint press conference held in Port Sudan with the Qatari Minister of Transport and Communications Jassim Saif Ahmed Al Sulaiti.
"Qatar and Sudan have agreed on a new joint partnership for full rehabilitation and management of the port of Suakin as that the signing ceremony will be in Khartoum tomorrow," Awad told reporters.
He further said that the project will be completed by 2020 and will cost four billion dollars, of which 500 million dollars will cover the first phase. Qatar will fund the project but Sudan will hold 51% of its shares while Qatar will get 49%.
He disclosed that the deal has been reached after four meetings held in Doha and Khartoum to discuss plans to modernize the seaport and to make it one of the strategic facilities in the country.
The project includes a free zone and besides the seaport infrastructure.
The minister didn’t say the term of the agreement but generally such concessions awarded for a period between 20 and 50 years. However, in some countries freehold deals are possible.
Awad said his ministry plans to develop the infrastructure of Sudanese seaports to keep pace with the development of maritime transport industry, adding they will work with international companies specialized in the seaports management.
In similar deals with foreign countries or private companies, the parties establish a separation of port authority from the port operator. The latter focuses on profitable commercial services while the former works on policy and regulations.
The visiting Qatari minister who arrived from Doha directly to Port Sudan met on Sunday evening with the Sudanese President Omer al-Bashir in Khartoum.
After the meeting, Al-Sultaiti said he discussed the project with al-Bashir and confirmed the signing of the deal on Monday.
Last December, Sudan and Turkey agreed to develop joint tourism projects in Suakin which was an important port in the Red Sea during the Turkish rule. Also, Angara said it would restore the historical sites of the port.
