It has come to the Ministry of Ports and Marine Transport’s attention an alleged investment agreement between DP World, the state of Somaliland and the Federal Republic of Ethiopia regarding the port of Berbera, in which DP world would hold 51% stake where Ethiopia would acquire 19%.

The Ministry, as a representative of the Federal Government of Somalia on issues regarding ports and

marine transport clarifies that;

Office of the Minister

1. The Federal Government of Somalia is not party to this so-called investment agreement

2. This so-called agreement is both defective and detrimental to the sovereignty of the Federal Republic of Somalia and the unity of the country

3. The terms of this deal contravene procedure and are in blatant breach of the Provisional Constitution Somalia.

The Ministry therefore, considering the above factors declares this deal as non-existent, null and void.

The Federal Government of Somalia welcomes investment and development of trade and infrastructure, but always with strict adherence to the rule of law and procedures set by the government’s institutions, and with oversight from the federal parliament

Not worth even the piece of paper its written on.

Anyway, coming back to the 3 points listed.

Point 1. that Villa Somalia is no party to the agreement. Trashes some fake news that say Khaire was involved. (Was laughable to say the least).

Point 2: Reiterates Somaliland's position very well.

Point 3: Somaliland has never been a part to any kind of constitution post 1960. You can throw the constitution in the garbage bin.

Ya ila qosla. That's what this war saxaafadeed is. A painful laughter inducing piece of paper.

Wait... could this become the longest lasting joke ever? The "non-existent" "null & void" that keep attracting investment for the next 30 years.

Cida riyoonaysa waa iska caday. Qofna reality ayu ku noolyahay. Qofna riyo beenaad ayu ku noolyahay.

Hadal waa raqiis, habar walba typewriter waa haysataa... let me know when the phantom government does anything worthy of a threat. Just writing "null & void" won't change anything from the facts on the ground.

On a serieous note. SFG should just file a document with UN, Arab Leaugue, AU send copy to UAE, Ethiopia and Somaliland stating that so long as Somaliland is part of Somalia all international agreements not ratified by Paeliament are invalid.

But then again all agreements done with Turkey, UAE, America...from Mogadishu are also invalid since not even raised in Parliament.

People living in glass houses should not be first to throw stones.

I bet you Somalia has agreed with UAE and arranged same propaganda and public consumption as Egypt does. Example Egypt cannot send a brigade into Sinai without Israel's permission. Cannot fly fighter jet in Sinai. This is never told to people. SFG should just file legal papaers for future generation or governments if one can stand on its two feet to negotiate in future.

This whole thing is so humiliating for all Somalis. I am sure Somalilanders are not that happy the way it got concluded, But the fault clearly lies in Mogadishu.

If the PM was intending to get few million dollars from UAE using the occasion, it won't work.

The media was wrong about Kheyre. It shows he was asked to come down to UAE and sign the deal and after he refused they wanted to embarrass him. It is over now.

Ifiye

Another possible outcome to this Arabian nights drama might be that of the UAE gangs  trying to get out of this Berbera deal and the FGS is their scapegoat .  No bellydancing yet.
