Maybe you did not understand the politics of "Inoo kala gura" ... Yes the days were there when the singers, composers and other great artists were under one flag feeling the dream of Unity is somehow within a reach.

Those years are over ,,, and it is time of the "Inoo kala gura wixii isugu keen jiray" theory has taken place.
Now look and see if Hadraawi talks about Beletweyn again ,,, see if Jubba sings about Batalaale anymore
. Time is changing sxb and we are not a "one country" anymore.

We still share the "Af-Soomaali" though ............... and that is a bonus.

Hadraawi waaki shalay Muqdishu joogay, fanaaniin kalena Djibouti Omer Guelleh ugu heysa.

Adeer, siyasadu maha waxa ee umadi ku midowdo ee waa dadnimadooda waxa ka dhaxeya. waxbaa isku dhex khaldisaa.

Carafaat Somaliland poets and singers are Somaliland poets and singers that's their country nationality and even xaaji xunjuf knows that's their ethnicity as well. Abuubark ilkajiir is a Somalilander haadraawi is a Somalilander Cabdi qays is a Somalilander faisal Cumar Mushteeq is a Somalilander, the legendary Qaasim is a Somalilander they all hailed from Somaliland. That's their land of origin if i Compose a poem today for Uzbekistan does that mean i am from Uzbekistan?

Xaaji, you seem to confuse goverment, governance and culture. Somaliland has an own goverment and seeks recongnition as an independant country, but it shares language, culture, history with Djibouti, Somalia, Somali region in Ethiopia and Somali region in Kenya.

A famous Afari singer, weather he is born, lives, votes, supports Eritrea, Ethiopia or Djibouti or any other country, above all he is an Afari singer.

Carafaat are you saying these singers are not Somalilanders isn't Somaliland their country Yeah sure Somali is language but an Englishmen or an Irishmen from Ireland is not the same compared to an American with Irish origin even though they speak the same language and are Christians.People are from different nationalities and that's just something you need to accept of course the People of Somalia are the brothers and sisters of Somalilanders when we talk about religion and Language but they have different nationalities they differentiate from each other Even the Folklore dances of Somalia and Somaliland are totally different.

Xaaji Xunjuf... I dont know what planet you live in but the last time I checked, the so called Sland was not recognised internationally and in accordance with international law, whether you like it or not Northern Somalia is and will always be part and parcel of Somalia. Those singers you claim as Somali landers, I am sure most of them would be offended and outraged when they hear your clannish, secessionist and anti-somali views. For you information, every region in Somalia has their own unique folklore, dance and dialect but that doesn't mean they are willing to deny and denounce their identity and heritage just like you.

Nice try Xaaji,

There is no such thing as an ethnic Somalilander or an ethnic Djiboutian. Your nationality can be Somalilander, DJiboutian, Ethiopian or even Kenyan and someone can have the Somaliland citizenship but yout ethnicity is Somali, Afari, Amharic, Tigrey, etc. And if you are talking about citizenship, most of these singers have other passports and citizenships.

Whay you are saying is these singers are from your clan and from other clans living in Somaliland. :D

Exactly ! ! ! .... They can belong to any country but the language, arts and culture are still shared.

That is why one shouldn't get mad when we say a poet for example is from Somaliland coz u can still listen to him and attend his events.

Who is talking about the ethnicity even when research was done somalis don't even share the same haplagroup or genetic marker so let's not talk about ethnicity what we do know is the singers jb posted are and hail from somaliland that's their country their land of origin and many of them their place of birth somaliland is their identity. That's an indisputable fact so why is it wrong if somaliland singers are called somaliland singers lol

JB, you can say Ubax Fahmo is from Somaliland when refering to her and her origin. But the fact you listed all great singers and poets under the banner of Somaliland is clearly meant to polarize.

Allah ha u Naxariisto, Abdullahi Qarshe was borned in Tanzania, father of modern Somali music, wrote the Somali flag song, long before there was Somaliland. Dont think he considered himself a Somaliland Artist.
