Somaliland authority sends stern warning to traditional chiefs that incite hatred among the populace. At the same time, Somaliland has said that it won’t accept the coronation of new traditional leaders. Deputy minister for internal affairs, Hon. Mohamed Muse Dirie has called that the elders must only play the role they have in the society but urged to refrain from acts of causing acrimony and hatred among the populace.

The new government is trying to correct many wrongs within its society as traditional leaders have been accused of fueling the fire of past civil wars that broke out in Somaliland. They are also alleged of instigating clashes between clans in the rural areas. The new government which has put in place strict laws on traditional elders to intervene on political affairs in Somaliland.

Don't get it, how was goverment involved in the first place?  shouldn't this be traditional stuff and upto clan elders.

Maybe they were guilty and used to be part of this for political reasons?

This guy is close to INa Biixi. His intension is to sideline the " New Shir" proclaimed  by the G/X community. We are not naive, every single war in Somaliland among the clans was instigated by politicians.

Elders are controlled remotely by politicians.

Do you guys remember the Muuse Biixi Suldaan who went to Burco and proclaim, " Inant aJeegaantu dhasho abti baan u ahay", he was probably sent their by Muuse to congratulate them about their help. a year ago during the voter registration he raided a polling station and was arrested. Later he was released to campaign for Muuse.

Have you seen the so called Grand Suldaan of Faysal Waraabe who called for the Shir of G/X community, and later scolded by Faysal and he changed his mind.

Folks we have clear cases where people are killed by the order of politicians including the one that took place Dararweyne last week.

there are over 1,950 traditional elders, caqils, chief-caqils, garaads, sultans and ugaases in Somaliland. that's enough manpower for them to form two and half battalions and go to the Yocadda.

The real CAQIL, SULTANS, and chiefs are the only one to challenge politicians, but what happened in order to screw this, politicians inflated BIG time and created 1000s of bogus CHIEFS, and has no turning back.

Way too many caqils.
