Tourism in Borama is booming. Locals are taking matters into their own hands

Recommended Posts

Mooge

Ali Duale, Puntland journalist is giving spotlight to Somali city of Borama. Locals are not waiting for siilaanyo and his cronies and are developing their city which is what Puntlanders are also doing. Ceerigabo community is also doing the same thing.

people need to take matters into their own hands and develop their local areas niyoow. that is the real progress.

Mooge, people like you who are on the ground living inside the daily reality of Somalia should be listened. I used to be vocal critic of the federalism, but it is the only hope for local people to develop and build their local economy.

By the way it is " Xagaagii Borama".

The people of Borama are quite different than the rest of Somalis. They are not loud in their speech and don't discuss clan politics 24/7. I been Hargeisa and Galkayo too, and at 1pm and 5pm you can hear the BBC news in every household and every shop. Everyone leaves their activities to listen to the BBC broadcast
