Sidoo kale waxaa la sheegayaa in la qaadan doono in Baarlamaanka lagu soo xulo 4.5, halka aqalka golaha sare lagu soo xulo 18-kii gobol ee dalka.

Galgaduud and Gedo have much smaller populations than this estimate.

Mogadishu IDP number is atleast 50% of the total population of the city

Togdheer population is not that big. Most of its people moved to Hargeisa.

Hargeisa's population is bigger than that of Mogadishu

Nugaal has bigger population than Galgaduud. Dhusamareeb is a village now and most of the population is concentrated in Cabudwaaq.

Second on Demographia’s ranking is Mogadishu in Somalia, with a population of 2.1 million, growing at 6.9%. Mogadishu’s growth is driven by its improving security situation and economic prospects after decades of civil war – many Somalis have returned from abroad.

Why ?

and what is the alternative.

Honestly, at this point, let's go our separate ways. Soomaali intii israbta hawada noolaadaan intii kale nabad galyo.

These !diots were chosen to transition the country to some sort of governance better than the current.

The current system has no accountability. The xildhibaans chosen by bribed "elders" that are beholden to no citizen. What have they done for their respective regions? What laws have they passed to smooth the transition?

Many of the commissions that were supposed to be setup in the first few months of Xasan's administration are being rushed now. That's why the faith of Somali nation is being decided by self-serving 7 !diots in Kismayo. What we need are institutions! And these people are robbing Somalis of that chance.

To keep assigning .5 to our fellow citizens is travesty. It is immoral. What human would like to be referred .5. And as political arrangement, how do we know so called minorities are actually numerically inferior. We confuse violence ( as perpetuated by "big" clans) with sheer numbers.

what is your solution,do we have a better solution, one man one vote is not feasible, distrist based doesnt account into 20 year old demog changes.

somalis have been governing themselves in mini states and will continue to do so in forseable future until we see some improvement like the current one in south-central minus the border areas

I see your coming to my viewpoint slowly Che, when i was callow hot headed atheist on this board i said the only option for Somalis are to have three or more separate states. NFD would be raped by the kenyans, kilinka 5'aad would be slowly ethiopanized, somaliland would become a kilin of ethiopia, eritrea would takeover djibouti, kenya overtime makes JL a protectorate. Xamar iyo nawaaxiga carabaha hoos tageen, etc. Somalis are too incapable to form a modern nation state, the natural state is to be takeover by those with more capacity.

On assigning .5 to some clans, if it is numerically representative, i don't see the problem. infact they are the king makers in this dispensation.

^ jeez guy, hyperbole much.

As much as disappointed there will be no election, the best way forward is 4.5. A lot has been accomplished by all parties. It is not time to rock the boat. District vote would lead to an imbalanced distribution, a recipe for conflict. Until we can have a one man one vote, Somalia should keep what's working.

The timescales involved are over decades, naxar, waxba horay uma socdaan dalkaan, it gets worse and worse every year, eventually the somali speaking bantustans would be folded into the neighboring regional states that know how to govern, somalis can only bicker. say, in 2030, regional states could get bold and take the case to the UN to divide and take over the country formally after years of laying covert groundowrk. this is not a normal country or people, expect the crazy

I agree district vote would give D block unfair distribution, that is why PL'ers are lobbying hard for it. 4.5 has proven to be really good idea.
