Recognition of Somaliland: sign this e-petition

Recommended Posts

The union of 1960 was a disaster for the Somali race.Once we took refuge in Kilinka 5aad, NFD and Jubouti the territories we were singing for to liberate then we lost all legitimacy to shoulder responsibility for the wider greater Somalia. What messed up the Somali dream is how the then North was shortchanged in 1960 and ultimately set for extermination,a case any southerner will vehemently deny and adding insult to injury claim the death toll was greatly exaggerated and that the north deserved what has befallen on thm ....classic case of blaming the victim and purposely.Surfing in the net has taught me southerners atleast most of thm has no clue or definitely in constant denial. What amazes me is how many still believe they can ova run SL once they get stronger disregarding how the strongest army forces at the time under Siyad Barre were annihilated in SL and to their weird conclusion(southerners) brag how all resistance started in middle Somalia when the great army was chewed up in the north and all was left is to kick the back door so the whole stinking system crumble down.Somaliland liberated all Somalia & Mogadishu would neva have risen without thm.The day they decided to go was when Ali Mahdi proclaimed the presidency without even calling the SNM which was certainly the biggest & strongest movement controlling the whole north and yet again adding insult to injury claimed on radio in his words,:::the war that has started in middle Somalia has come to Mogadishu & toppled Siyad Barre::: That was the straw that broke the camel's back , the last nail in the coffin and once again a testament that treachery is part of southern fabric...proven by time the last 24 yrs in which they put their house in inferno.

I believe we can live apart peacefully side by side, trade, communicate, travel to each otha etc, just like Jubouti. The litmus test for Somali unity has miserably failed and there's no going back. The other 3 Somali speaking territories has moved on and in no mood to take the greatest risk and so are we.

Words such as somalinimo, unity etc is seen in Somaliland as fake and disingenuous, the only vehicle southerners think can bite back and stop the

momentum toward nationhood ....but to no avail.

Surely for this petition to succeed a lot more people would have to sign it and because of my benevolent nature, I have added my support to the futile cause of the marfashlanders. I signed the petition to help buttress the laangaab numbers that won't, at the end of the day, even amount to a rat's fart.

P.S

It doesn't help your cretinous cause when terrorist Silaanyo sends somaliland police commanders to attend training seminars alongside Police officers from the "Bantu occupied south"

I mean, what's up with this? :D

Saaxiib, waa runtaa oo aqoonsigu Waxaa lagu heli karaa Somalia oo idinka yeesha, but like an obstinate husband who refuses to sign the divorce papers for his favorite wife, Somalia won't recognize the habar enclave, maadaama ay saddex idinku qabaan :D

Marka, Buuraha saaxiib, goormaad edab yeelanaysaan oo aad dadkiina dhinac ka raaci doontaan?

Somalia maxay qabi karta sawta Ugandhees iyo burundiisku qabaan

Waa runtaa Xaaji, adduunyadaan waa la is wada qabaa... :D

Somalia waxay saddex ku qabtaa somaliland, dabadeedna wadamada dariska ayaa Somalia laftigeeda saddex ku qaba, markaas Africa oo dhan ayaa saddex lagu qabaa waxaana ku qaba wadamada cadaanka ah.

The only problem is that the marfashlanders are too daft to understand this reality about global geopolitics.

Somaliland represents everything that is wrong with Somali society. It's the embodiment of tribalism and the cult-like traits of groupthink. It's is a dogmatic and irrational belief pursued with zealotry conviction.

Somaliland nationalism is stronger than what ever. Somalia based ethno nationalism was easily undermined it was conceived on very weak foundations from its very inception.

Somaliland nationalism

Sacrifice

dedications

Commitment

Compromises

precise calculations

Extreme patriotism

Self pride

it has worked for the people the past 23 years and for centuries to come it will work

The green white red the symbol of dignity and pride and the defenders of the Faith

They say it all

What next Xaaji, how black is white?

The truth is Somaliland is based on extreme tribalism, xenophobia and imagined differences. Despite the artificial construction of tribal identies such as Somaliland, there is only one Somali nation, which is united by ethnicity, culture, religion and language.

If you have issue with Somaliland and it's people then let them go
:)

Your infantile remark has been noted, do you have anything else to contribute?

No one has issues with Somaliland. It's our land and its inhabitants are our people, our brother and sisters and our fellow Somali citizens.

There is a Somaal race living in the Somali peninsula an imagined Somali region in the horn of Africa, some are not even part of the Somali race and were assimilated, how ever identifying ur self with a mere Somali cultural identity will not cut it. Somaal door is very wide open if you learn Somaali language and become a Muslim u can become a Somali , some even say u dont have to be a Muslim.

There is no such thing as a Somali nation , the Somali republic ceased to exist in 1991 it was easily undermined by rebel movements beyond repair. Because its identity of ethno nationalism was conceived on weak fundamental principles, religion and a mere language is not enough to build a nation, people need to have the same history suffered same plight feel as one, have same cultural traits have the same political culture identities is shaped by experiences through out the centuries, the Somali political identity has no real meaning for a Somali from Djibouti and a Somali from Wajir what do they possibly share other than a language? This whole mantra of we are the same people same ethnic same culture same religion same language has been repeated over and a over again, by the same ethno nationalist of the 1950s, these people were trying to convince them self , nature became nature after all. They knew the whole ethno nationalism period was based on emotions deep inside but they were burying their head in the sand and there was no real bond between the people the war is our witness.

When asked about a shared history some will bring up Imam Ahmed a 16 century Jihadist from Somaliland who's identity till this day remains a mystery some say he was an Arab and others say he is a Somali, and Somali clanists fight over his clan identity. The Funny part is Imam Ahmed never set foot outside what is today Eastern Ethiopia and Somaliland, for Somalis in Kenya and Somalis in Somalia , Imam Ahmed means little, than there is The Mullah another 19 century Jihadist who spend most of his time in Somaliland and raided twice parts of Somalia, basing your historic national identity on 2 Jihadists and reinventing history and telling the Somali masses they were fighting for Somali ethno nationalist cause will not cut it and Somalis in Somalia Djibouti Somaliland Ethiopia and Kenya will not buy it. Even people of Somalia who claim to pledge allegiance to the blue flag have their own subnational identity Puntland Jubbaland Galmudug south western state. If you want to unite the Somali speaking people u need to defeat the rest and claim the Emperor of the Somalis , i doubt any one can ever do that.

But good luck to that my friend
