I know that you don't like corruption (well at least for Somaliland) but don't you think that this government's default mode is crisis management. Things are bad in Somalia but these guys are making it worse by manufacturing conflict (juba, central bank, PM, etc...). The rest of the Somalilanders jumped ship already, they no longer see this "SFG" as a possible partner in crime, I'm surprised you are still holding hope.

Corruption is part of the culture in Somalia and in many countries in Africa some leaders are just more clever than others and make it seem that the corruption is limited and remains in the shadows. Thats the art the government of President hassan needs to develop. You guys want to see wonders just after a year what makes you think you will see tangible change in over a year. Look at the larger picture Mogadishu is peaceful for the most part there is mass reconstruction this government lasted longer than the other 4 transitional governments. The Jubba thing has been solved ofcourse after allot of dialogue they agreed Jubba regions were for years contested you want them to solve everything there were so many factons wanting to control that region.I believe Somalia is on the right track it has a long way to go but its on the right track. As for Somaliland and President hassan we shall see how the talks go so far so good.

^ A bit too late for that. This latest article also claims the same thing we all know the government

down south hasn't been able to receive direct EU funds.

"We are confident that, over time, the EU will channel direct support to the Somali government and we continue to engage our partners on ways in which this can be achieved."

she denied it and then said the same thing. loooooooooool. she repeated the same attack against EU.

I think this article unveiled the so-called Eu countries who failed to give any meaningful aid to Successive Somali governments since 2010. If they do not trust ruling class, how about directly paying the salary of the army who should be replacing Aminisom. Waar wadankan waa loo soo shaqo tagay. kulahaa 500 million ayaan Unisom siinay. Hadaanay shilin siinayn why ay wax ugu yeedhinayaan. shalay oo u dambaysay Airport ka ayey inta ugu yeedheen kula kulmeen deeq bixiyeyaashu. muxuu u odhan waayey Villa Somalia iigu yeedha. Horaanu u nidhi wadankani rug caddaaa buu u baahan yahay, maalin walba, Wadaad yar oo Semi educated ah ayaa la noo keenaya. Hadii uu rabo in uu dawladiiisan iyo mustaqbalka dadka rabo in uu u gargaaro ha magacaabo Raiisul Wasaare karti leh oo reer Soomaaliland ah. Lagase filimaaayo.

Horta, do you any of you beg in your daily life so as to afford a loaf of bread? Or do you steal it?

Why do we seem the ignore the fundamental problem here; the fact that our government(s) are professional beggars and looters? And that beggars--who ignore their own God-given resources--simply can't be leaders?

One thing is clear that majority of Somali politician doesn't understand about new deal and how they can get pledge many. First of all they need public finance management and an accountability system after that they should come plan with clearly peacebuilding and statebuilding goals according the new-deal goals:

The five goals are:

Legitimate politics: Foster inclusive political settlements and conflict resolution.

Security: Establish and strengthen people’s security.

Justice: Address injustices and increase people’s access to justice.

Economic Foundations: Generate employment and improve livelihoods.

Revenues & Services: Manage revenue and build capacity for accountable and fair service delivery.

Any plan which is not targeting this goals will not channeling any many from new-deal. Hassen and his team should do their homework again instead loosing their energy into conflict

niyoow this is good news for somalia. yusur abrar's stance against corruption have done damage to the da**adiid project.

by the way, Fowzia took her HAG inlaw relatives to Brussels and the Belguim government didn't give them quick entry and detained the HAG gang for a while at the airport because the entourage travelling with her including warlord Qaybdiid's daughter, Yariisoow, made the Belgium government suspicious. lool.

Apparently this Somalia's delegation to EU, which consists of a inexperienced old lady (carrying government paperwork by hand), an adolescent teenage girl and three briefcase carriers on sightseeing trip. What a depressing sight!

The Future, you right it is the psyche of all Soomaali leaders, they can not lift a finger without foreign aid. Wuxuu yidhi Waxay Nabadeen, Waxa Kasii Daran Waxay Nabareen. They are waiting somebody else to build their country. They don't have any plan to raise Internal revenue within the country. Afar Sanoo khasaartay iga dheh.

This is a country recovering from a civil war surly the eu and others know that they need to support the Somaliya gov If the only support they give is military Amisom and not long term support like for somali military , education ,reconciliation then it will be diffuclt for any gov as they will always be short funds.

Also the gov needs to make clear for the int . Community that the local population will raise against the Amisom troops if they are not replaced with the somali troops very soon . Nobody likes to be occupied by foreign troops and the civilian population in different regions are already complainng about 20K amisom troops as they amisom are above law things can change rapidly I do hope they not too arrogant to understand that foriegn troops are use by the insurgents as a reason to depose the Gov.

Well done i respect the foreign minister for exposing the EU fake promise to the Somali Gov since late President Abdulahi Yusuf rip Administration . This aggressive approach by the SFG foreign minister was needed for the EU to act fast and fulfill their Promises as other IC donors have done .

Next task or follow up for Fawzia Yusuf Adam Somalia's minister of foreign affairs and deputy PM should be the U.N Security council resolution that was passed earlier this month which opens the door for the the rebuilding of Somali National Army . SFG are ought to get more aggressive both home and in the International arena .

The surge is meant to provide a short-term enhancement to the force known as AMISOM. After 18 to 24 months, the U.N. wants to hand over the fighting to the Somali army and send a U.N. peacekeeping mission to replace the AU force.

The resolution also approves 12 new military helicopters from troop-contributing countries.

P.s

Tax revenue from Mogadishu - Hiiraan - Sh-dhex - Sh -hoose - Jubba- and Goboladhex are enough for the SFG to run the Nation .

You dont need the UN to build a functioning army unless u want un troops to protect you. The united nations partly lifted the arms embargo not that it stopped the influx of arms into to somalia what u need is proper structure in the defense department u need leadership that trains the arms forces, u need to be serious about reinstating the army united nations cannot build ano army for you and if you want gun ships war planes these tools are the most easiest to purchase you just need money what u need to do is pay the damn salaries of the sfg militia and stop stealing their monthly salary. The rest can be build on time.
