What we see,is the birth of Damul-jadeed dominated government in Somalia!!,....i must say, well done President Hassan, for playing chess-like well, the moment Jubaland has been subdued he checkes out PM Saacid, as he is now deemed unnecessary does rendering him useless.

Laa isu abtirsay i think Saacid needs to play it smart if he wants to make it difficult for the damuljadiid he should forge an alliance with faroole and the mps from bay and bakool. He should deal with the decision makers from those constituencies If he can get his clan on his side all he needs to do is buy off the mps from Somaliland, and Djibouti and lower shabelle, asha haji can do a bit of networking since she is already an mp and get some votes of her clan it will still be difficult for saacid since qatari money is involved. I dont think he can beat the damuljadiid. But if he can unite his tribe in parliament he has a solid foundation and he can put up a fight.

Calm and Madoobe? Have you been under a rock the last 10 years?

Saciid should have pulled in his family a long time ago. He will have a good amount of support from HG because of his wife and because he is very close to those on his mother's side. In hindsight, he should have warmed up to SAHAL a long time ago considering he was surrounded by hand-picked Da**adiids. Still, he has a chance because Farole and Co. know that whoever will replace Saciid will not be from their corner. And, of course, they gain tremendous political capital if he stays and they had something to do with it.

The biggest loser in all of this is the President. He alienated a lot of good men when he made ridiculous demands as to the cabinet during the PM selection process. Da**adiid's infiltration of the government has made him some enemies in the parliament. There is little doubt that the next PM will not be as calm and willing to take a backseat as Saciid has done. The next PM can only try to undermine the Da**adiid project because he will look at what calm and deference did to Saciid. The President's best option, if he wishes to avoid a power struggle with his next MP, will be to promote from within. Of course, "within" cannot mean a dam-jadiid member or else he loses the majority of parliament.

If there's a way the President can win in this situation, I certainly don't see it. Except, promote Fauzia to PM while he "searches" for a replacement for the next 3 years.
