Ethiopia unveils a statue for Sayid Muhamed Abdullah Hassan,in Jigjiga

Recommended Posts

Abdirahmaan Sayid Muhammad , the son of the Mullah who was the Interior minister in the government of Haile sallasie when the Pan Somalism delegation arrived, led by Egal and Ina Qeybe in addis ababa to hold a conference with the Emperor on the issues regarding the Somali region, and Hawd and reserve area and the O'gaden region. The Emperor brought to the table a tricky question where he asked The Son of the Mullah whether his father was a Somali hero or an Ethiopian hero his son responded and he said the following that his Father was an Ethiopian hero, of Somali origin who fought to liberate the Eastern Ethiopian regions from the colonial bondage insinuating Somaliland and Somalia. The Ethiopians nationalists always wanted to make ina abdulla hassan an Ethiopian figure for 2 particular reasons one to give the Somalis under their domain a hero they can identify with. And the second one is that he fought against the colonialists telling themselves that the Somali region was not under colonization but that the Europeans were the colonizers, and that the O'gadeni people were free people never colonized by Europeans but that they produced the likes of ina abdulla hassan who wanted to liberate the Eastern Ethiopian regions, in their silly minds.
