Kenya is weak. 4 days Alshabab have controlled the shopping centre. This will be a disaster for the safari tourists. What will Kenya do without tourism. Do you really think anyone will want to visit Nairobi??? This is an absolute disaster for Kenya which is exactly what Alshabab wanted just the other day I was watching the news they said their objective is economic stagnation or failure for Kenya. What will this mean for the Somalis in Kenya???

Are you mistaking Kenya's disciplined forces to your Mogadishu/Hargeisa militia-cum-national police? That will carpet-bomb anything that moves in such a situation. Or you wanted Russian style of gassing everyone in the building!

This is a hostage situation, dimwit. A hostage situation that demands extra caution and following certain protocols to save as much innocent lives as possible. And Kenya will come out stronger after this incident.

The one they said was one of the attackers that they captured and died in the security forces hands is probably this poor woman's husband, who happened to be an innocent Muslim. Another botched attempt by Kiinyaatiga.

Sad, but there are always collateral damage in such situations. The initial shock of the government will obviously result in innocent people coming into harm. So according to the woman's narration, the rumours that these thugs were giving muslims free pass was a hoax. For those who doesn't understand Swahili, the husband drove to Somali girls to the mall for shopping and both girls have been shot. The husband worked for their dad and owns Haashi Petroleum)

Che, glad that you clarified your stand on AS and their terror act. My whole point of asking you that question was to make sure I understood your points well. You sounded like as if you were justifying or making excuses for that terror attack.

That being said, you are somehow bothered by the so called "invading" foreigners, be it neighbors or the other AMISOM army, while you completely ignore the underlining issues. It is not like if these countries woke up one day and decided to invade Somalia for the sake of it. Yes they are there for their own interest, but what compel them to go into Somalia, is the question to be asked. Specially the case of Kenya. If it wasn't our wars, our non ending cycle of violence, our refugee crisis, and to top it all, the AS menace(partially foreign) that internationalized our internal civil war. These foreign armies would never had set foot on Somali soil. If we had resolved our issues and reconciled on our own from the get go, they would never had the chance to interfere our internal civil strife and side with one group over others. It's we who sneak into their capitals and take our dirty laundry to them. It's we who exported our menace to their lands. We are the ones who don't have our interests at heart. Or is that not true? The truth of the matter is that we are a broken nation and the mistrust among us is as high as it ever been.

Now, I would have no issue if Somali groups, be it warlords or religious, appose or even fight any foreign army in Somalia so long as there is no consensus among the Somalis for the presence of foreign armies in our land.. What I have issue with is when a group that claim to represent Islam and Somalis(both false) go rampage on a place space full of civilians.

Awoowe, you are intelligent enough to assess and analysis things in their perspective, so don't let emotions drive you or what few guys in Sol say, cloud your judgement.

Lastly, to have any faith in our government and all Somalis to support it, one thing must happen first, a genuine reconciliation among Somalis.

Those eleven suspects madaxweynahooda mentioned earlier today, ten happen to be Soomaali, probably masaakiin meesha adeeg u doontay. Knowing Kiinyaatiga mentality and their botched rescue attempts, they need to justify. Masaakiin ayee iska soo qab qabteen. This reminds me qaraxyadii Islii ka dhacaaye late last year and earlier of this year. After one of those qaraxyo waxee soo aruuriyeen shan wiilal oo Soomaali Carab ahaa oo Islii ka xamaalan jiray, accusing them being the suspects.

Here is what the Guardian paper wrote:

A separate source told the Guardian that 10 of the suspected attackers being held by Kenyan authorities are of Somali ethnic origin. The source said the suspects – all men – were found in civilian clothes and claim to have been hiding from the militants. An official involved in the operation said Kenyan authorities were studying CCTV footage of people entering the mall in the hours leading up to the attack.

Three other people, initially suspected as being terrorists but later released, are believed to be members of the same family – a Kenyan man and his two granddaughters, who had been in hiding and texting with police for the past three days. A relative, who asked not to be named, received news of their rescue early on Monday. The family has since been reunited.

The Guardian

This "Kenyan man and his two granddaughters" are Soomaali, too, yaa ogaado.

They claimed they also killed "five" suspects, untold other dead suspects buried under the collapsed floors and plus those eleven. All those to hide kuwii baxsaday. According to this witness:

They are also reports that the "suspects" leased a store within the mall and in the past month were storing weapons. That is the only reason they could have four days nonstop shooting, Kiinyaatiga allege. That is one of their poor theories.

Maxee wax isku qasanyihiin.

So in your own little world there are no terrorists killed, no suspects arrested (and all those under custody are innocent), therfore, following your logic, Westgate attack didn't even take place. Waa cajiib. Bal inoo waran and tell us the details of where the killers ended up since you seem to know the nitty gritties of the situation ama 'kenyaatiga' killed those innocent women and children on tv?

Serious mishandling of the operation and the media briefings. Kenyans can be forgiven for having mishandled the operation to oust the terrorists but the media briefings and conflicting reports and the freelancing of information by ministers, police and other officials is baffling.

Kenya has access to international funds and training and even with that this incident showed how poor they are in regards to security. The terrorists had the building for almost five days, the Israelis the Germans the American the British all came running. In the end they had to blow down the bottom half of the shopping centre. Poor indeed

This is a blog site, so nothing is confirmed yet; however, again, knowing Kiikuuyo mentality waxaan wey ka suurowdaa and it might be happening a lot now that the mall is occupied by a lot of military and police forces. Alaab badan ayee jeebka gishan doonaan, especially those expensive smartphones that is sold in that mall, the same way ay garoonkii Nayroobi u bililiqeysteen markuu dabqabsaday in last month, instead of dabka ay damiyaan by both firefighters and immigration officials.

So 2/3 of the mall was flattened like Hiroshima by the Kenyans and their friends and not much news about it.

The Ibf come rolling in like its their business and no one talks about that.

Most people are parrots. Parroting mob emotions and what the media chooses to feed them.

Knowing Kiinyaati mentality, no surprise again. Read on.

Westgate shops lose millions of shillings in looting

WESTGATE Shopping Mall was heavily looted following last Saturday's attack.

Angry shop owners were yesterday asking security agents to explain how their goods were stolen after the terrorists attacked the mall.

Many business owners on the first, second and third floors managed to close up their premises during the initial stages of the attack but were surprised to find them broken into and vandalized.

“There is a crisis here because the owners of some of the shops that dealt in valuable goods and who have been allowed inside the building have shocked to find that their premises were looted by unknown people. They are demanding to be told what happened and who took their goods,” a security officer told the Star after shop owners visited the mall on Thursday.

The Rado watch shop has been swept clean.

A jewelery shop lost all its gold, silver and gem stone collection although it had been secured and closed.

"It is unfortunate that our premises were looted during the attack. It is dark in the building but all the expensive jewelery and watches on display have been stolen. They took the best and left the few that are not very expensive. I don't think the attackers could have done this because it is obvious that they came specifically to steal.
It would be absurd if the people entrusted to protect Kenyans are the ones who stole from our business premises
," one shop owner said.

An electronics shop lost all its iPads, iPhones and mobile phones.

The casino on the third floor reportedly lost over one million shillings but police are investigating whether employees or security agents involved in the rescue operation stole the money.

People who hid in Barclays Bank on the second floor to escape the gunmen allegedly grabbed money from the tills before they ran out.

The government is yet to allow the business owners to fully access the building as the exercise to retrieve bodies from the rubble is still continuing.

There are unconfirmed reports that televisions and electronic equipment were taken from Nakumatt but it is impossible to verify as the supermarket is now buried under rubble.

Some reports also said that the six ATM machines in the mall had also been broken into.

The CCTV cameras in Westgate went off on Monday after power to the mall was disconnected during the operation to flush out the attackers.

On Tuesday Constable Benson Gachuhi Kihenjo attached to Spring Valley Police station was charged in court after he was allegedly found with a blood stained wallet, credit cards, cheque books and identification documents belonging to victims of the Westgate attack
.

Meanwhile, people who had abandoned their cars last Saturday were yesterday being allowed them from Nakumatt Ukay and from outside Westgate.

Hundreds of other vehicles remain trapped within the premises and many have been burned or damaged during the fighting.

City Mortuary attendants and the Chief Government Pathologists Dr Johansen Oduor were called to the scene to assist in the process of retrieving the bodies and reports indicated that 100 body bags had been ordered.
