About Ali

As a bridge builder, he supported a partnership between the Boys and Girls Club of Edmonton and the Edmonton Somali community. Mustafa has been recognized for his community work, having received the Edmonton Mennonite Centre for Newcomers award for Youth Leadership and Achievement Award. Mustafa, then, is passionate about making Edmonton a better place, and making Ward 2 an even better place to live in.

In his spare time, Mustafa has channeled his passion for mentorship and sports by organizing two basketball programs for youth and volunteers much of his time giving back and supporting local charities.

Mustafa Ali is a passionate activist and leader wishing to make a difference in Ward 2. He is guided by a vision to make an impact – on his community, city, and the world at large. At the University of Alberta, where he completed a bachelors in Political Science, Mustafa was involved with a number of student groups in executive positions, and co-founded a student group that collaborated for a large fundraising effort in the Haiti flood relief. He also dedicates his energy to impacting the local youth as well, especially those at high-risk

of falling into crime.

Vision

1. Building Stronger and Safer Communities

b. Reinvest in after-school programming and make sure the provincial government steps up too
