this is clearly western propaganda. in their haste to vilify, they will STOP at nothing and will leave no stone unturned. they are now poisoning the minds of children with 'women's empowerment' and other such fallacies.

although 11 years of age (may need verification), her yuus and qaylo are evidently indicative of someone who's already mentally developed. i'd advise less musasal and less nancy ajram. she's a good looking little girl but her incessant tirades of self-opinionated bile, ruins it for me. i think i'll marry a 6 year old (with the caveat that we'll consummate the marriage on her 18th birthday, in accordance with western marital norms).

The video was actually posted by MEMRI TV, which is a pro Isreali media organization co founded by Yigal Carmon, who is a former isreali military intelligence colonel. Their name stands for Middle Eastern Media Research Institute. They are supposedly to bridge the linguistic gap that exists between the middle east and the west by translating relevant news originating from the middle east. However, they are known to selectively translate, publish and distribute the materials of people with extreme views, perhaps to promote anti arab and muslim views. in this case it obvious the intended purpose of this clip.

According to Almighty God's Law their is no marriage without the express consent of both partners. Simple as that. If anyone is forcing their child into a "marriage" they might as well give them away to a brothel.

You skipped way over the horrific situationist right in front of your eyes to insinuate a bias because the founders of this American non profit are Israeli. Somali logic is so frustrating sometimes.

^Of course somali logic can be frustrating for some especially if you are inherently gullible for an obvious reason.

+1 Majority of them don't use their brains but like to copycat things they heard (i.e baa la yiri!).

Muuqaalkaas ka sokoow, waxaa jira wax yaaba kadaran ee ka dhaca Haddii ay ahaan lahayd wadamada carabta sida Yemen, sacuudiga, iwm. Dumarka xuquuqdooda hoos baa loo dhigaa, ragana kor baa loo qaadaa waana run aan labeenin karin!.

Waxaa ka daran in ay jiraan Soomaali dhaxashay dhaqankaas foosha xun oo aan indhahayga ku arkay (Gabdhaha oo lagu Qasbo nin aysan raali ka ahayn ama noloshooda shaqsiyeed oo lagu xadgudbo). Waa Jaahilnimo waxyaabahaas oo kale kuwa ku dhaqma, ama kuwa aaminsan in ay caadi tahay. Waxaa fiican in arrimahan oo kale laga wada hadlo ama laga wada doodo inta la iska aamusnaa lahaay ama la dhihi lahaa "Reer galbeed, reer yahuud, reer gaalo, reer Hebel hadalkooda naga daaya!.

@Alpha Caadi iska dhig sxb, this is a serious issue and not just a joke

@peasant Because the video went viral doesn't mean that it was promoted/sponsored by anti Muslims or anti Arabs. This is the hard truth and it's and was happening decades ago in the Arab world.

Until Somalis understand that it doesn't have to be a choice between Arab cultural backwardness and Godless feminism they will remain confused. The funny thing is the authentic reer miyi dhaqan seems to be the perfect balance between the two in terms of the role, rights and responsibilities of women. But as Somalis are so accustomed to doing, we continue looking for answers outside the parameters of our inherited cultural heritage. A shame really.

The Prophet (pbuh) said: “The virgin should not be given in marriage until her permission has been sought.” (Sahih Bukhari, Hadith 6968)

This backward cultural practice of forced marriage has no bearing on us, as Somalis. It has nothing to do with us, and posting this on a Somali forum is pointless. There may be a few Somalis here and there who engage in this practice of forced marriage, but this is outside our religion and culture.

Unless you want to somehow link this to us, as some of these vile Atheists on this forum attempt to do all the time.
