Just now; a guy says to MB supporters, This is Egypt! We're not Somalia!

Oh the humiliation, we must restore our honor.

i actually thought that the egyptian people are smarter what they really are, they are a subservient client nation to the west and they made a mistake by not choosing the least offensive president to keep the facade.

We should restore our honor, we're being used as an example of the worst Muslim country. Will Libya turn into another Somalia? Will Syria turn into another Somalia?

We have feelings too.

From Amnesty International Australia

Today It's making headlines across the world: a 22 year old woman has been brutally raped by five men during protests in Tahrir Square, Egypt [1]. The Dutch journalist has reportedly undergone surgery for her injuries.

Shockingly, this attack is not a one-off. A local NGO recorded more than 40 cases of sexual assault and harassment against women on Sunday night alone.

Female protestors have faced widespread sexual violence in Tahrir Square for many years -- and Egyptian authorities have continually failed to stop the attacks, or bring perpetrators to justice.

We need to send a clear message that this sort of violence and discrimination is not acceptable anywhere, at any time. Demand Egypt's political leaders clearly condemn sexual violence and bring attackers to account.

This sort of gender discrimination runs deep in Egypt. Women are sidelined from public life, including in government and courts of law. During the Arab Spring protests of 2011 the Egyptian military performed degrading forced "virginity tests" on female protestors [2]. No one has been brought to justice for this humiliating form of torture.

Many of us will also remember the disturbing footage of a young female protestor being stripped and beaten by soldiers. Azza Hilal Ahmad Suleiman came to her aid. She was beaten even after she fell unconscious, and was hospitalised with a fractured skull [3]. No one has been held accountable for her vicious beating.

In fact, not a single person has been brought to justice for sexual violence against women by members of the military and police during military rule.

These injustices must end. Join our call for Egypt's leaders to implement a comprehensive plan to combat sexual violence, and to bring perpetrators to account.

There is a new movement of strong, brave Egyptian women standing up to discrimination - and Azza Suleiman is one of them. She says that today "the fear is broken. In the past, women and girls didn't talk about sexual harassment, but now they do and they are fighting back against it."

It is women like Azza that we stand behind in solidarity - and that is what the Amnesty movement has always been about; lending support for the struggle against discrimination and injustice the world over.

In hope for a better future for Egyptian women,

Michael Hayworth

Crisis Campaign Coordinator

Amnesty International Australia

They are celebrating for the same Mubarak Military? Honestly the Egyptian protestors are fools.

I love how politics in the Muslim world involves accusing anyone with competing view of being a Zionist/American lackey. It's made more entertaining when both sides, as is the case in Egypt, are making that accusation simultaneously.

If the MB, the winners of an elected democracy then thats a recipe for a violent respoende from them.

The egyptians took protesting another level. They protested and 50& of the nation elected mursi. Why put him down? What now?

Do they want a mubarak style general to rule them?

These people deserve a dictator exactly like Somalis, give them a bit of freedom and they go crazy. Tahrir square has seen more rapes then some places in lawless Somalia.

They are complete Jaahils, but we can learn from this as Muslims. There is no compatibility between Islam and democracy. Democracy only works if the Secular parties who the West supports are elected. This has been proven with Hamas, the recent coupe in Algeria and now the coupe here in Misr.

NGONGE

^^ Don't forget Pakistan (when Nawaz Sharif was ousted by Musharaf) or Iraq (when Nouri Al Maliki ousted the elected president). It is a democracy as long as the "right" candadite is chosen.

As for the Egyptians; well this is not limited to them (as I've shown above). In this world of social networking ANY country can be victim to what is taking place in Egypt. The UK had it witht he riots of 2011, Turkey had it recently with that park thing, etc, etc.

Crazy mobs are not exclusive to Egypt or the Arab world.

I'm glad they got rid of the MB, the donkeys in Egypt have blamed every single problem of the last thirty years on the MB, not only that but they think that a lot of the problems that are present on the whole planet have been caused by the MB in Egypt.

Who are they gonna blame now?

You will see these donkeys causing a mayhem in 2014 again. I think they like the attention.

The Muslim Brotherhood should now organise itself, vow not to retaliate with violence, and basically stay out of the Egyptian politics for a while. I am sure the secularist fools will be on each other's throats in a few week's time and the Muslim Brotherhood would be vindicated.

The military should never have allowed the Islamic brotherhood to contest the election. Egyptions wanted democracy and they are smart enough to not let a bunch of Neanderthals hijack all their hard Wark. Islamic political party is an oxymoron, these people should stay in their mosques and leave governing to competent people trained in that field. As for all this bs about secularist, there is a simple difference between a secularist and those for theocracies: one will die so that you may exercise your rights and other will kill you for doing. It's thanks to secularism that all of you in the west can practice your believes in peace. If these "gaalo" thought like some of you, we would all be attending mass on Sunday. Caqlixumo.
