STOIC

This is the promises and the prospect of peace.Somaliland is still unfolding and it looks like with time and good governance it will soon be indepedant country that relies rarely on foreign handouts and diaspora family money.I was praying behind an older gentlemen from My subclan at a house in Nairobi when I almost didn't say Ameen at the end of the prayer when he started saying "May Allah distance us from the Southern people and whatever they cokking for Somaliland"...Haha very passionate and patriotic people who are attached to their land

Lol@ STOIC the people of Somaliland fought hard to be where they are now when the world turned their back on them they continued they didnt care much about what the world says. When the world started supporting unconditionally the empty shelf that they call the UN western backed Somali government. Somaliland just continued with democratization of the country. The Koonfurians are an obstacle to Somaliland developing thats why Somaliland need to be fully cut loose from them. In order for Somaliland to shine. Somalia just has a negative impact on Somaliland.

So, in that line of thinking, they have to build 20 monuments in Kismaayo to commemorate USC/SNM savagery? Every town in Somalia will have to get a monument to show the brutal force against them. Heck, even the 1+million somalis in Kenyan camps should get their own. wake up guys.

It resulted the loss of the lives of many many innocent people, which as Somalis, should all touch and sadden us, but at the heart of it, this wasn't a clandestine operation targeted at one tribe/people. The government was trying to subdue a militia that was vying to overthrow them by force. No one wins in a war. More people were killed/forced out by the bullet that followed in the South than in Somaliland. Who is responsible for those lives? USC and SNM mainly.

USC was not a government the Kacaan regime was a government claiming to protect the people of Somaliland they shelled residential areas in Somaliand carpet bombed the city and 95% of the people of hargeisa fled to Ethiopia. How can you claim to protect the people you are forcing to flee from their homes. Even lets say they were not targeting a specific tribe . How do you explain the jazeera massacre in Mogadishu do you think SNM was operating in Mogadishu in 1989. Why were they targeting ethnic Somalilandish people in the heart land of the capital? USC was a rebel movement they did not claim to be a government for all Somalis they were just a clan organization. But when your own government declares you enemy state you know there is something wrong.

^^^ its funny how everyone thinks they know everything. SNM wasn't created for no reason systematic discrimination was the policy before the war to the extent that men like the UFO group were given life sentences in solitary confinement or providing Hargaisa hospital with beds so Saxib Iska fariso. In all honousty no one care what happened in SOMALILAND and we don't care what happens in Somalia. This is the new order of the age and in this age stay on your side and I on mine you cross the border we will see how far we can shove the plane up.....

There are two sides to every story. You can get the account of SNM gangs talking about what they did on Youtube. I haven't personally met anyone who justifies what happened in Hargeysa or the people that have been in essence massacred there, but if you allow yourself to see the full picture, you understand that it's a complicated matter, with many parties at fault. I will leave it at that.
