Well what can I say other than "ashes-to-ashes, dust-to-dust" to that other country call former Somali Republic. And it's another country today since all reputable historians agree that the "past" is another country. And therefore that other country is something we can all learned from it.

It's with hope, one must conclude, that the likes of our Xiinfaniin and few of the kikuye's butlers we have it around here will finally let go of the idea of thinking that the old Somali Republic (of the kind in which this list of ambassadors indicates) can be "resurrected" afresh with the help of "borrowed muscles" in today's world. Or perhaps on the back of a "political scam" known as a "clan federalism".
:D

All in all, whatever fate awaits Somalia, going forward, one thing that is clear as a daylight is that just as the "ruling minority Sunnis" of Iraq went to the "dustbin of History" when that dictator of theirs by the name of Mr Saddam Hussain went to meet his maker, it's also the case that Somalia's version of Iraqi's Sunnis have also joined the "dustbin of history" along with their former dictator by the name of Gen. Barre.

Or at least the idea of them calling the "political shots" of the Somali peninsula, or even ruling it in the manner they were accustomed to it, from this point forward, has indeed went into that dustbin of "recorded history".
:D

Hence it's best for all, if everyone tries to learn from that history and therefore everyone tries to cut their political cloths accordingly.
:D
:D

Fair analysis of what is happening in Somalia(clan federalism) today and its correlation with the past(clan hegemony).

^^its the oldest trick in the legal system for the lawyers of the "defendant" to deny the "veracity" of any "damming evidence" before the judge, if such evidence may convict their client in the eyes of the sitting jury.

Hence, our Jacpher is basically exercising his right to that "old trick" in here.

I dont think its a trick. Its just that some folks really haven't learned from history yet and are subdues by the prospect of resurrecting their clan hegemony. But they are underestimate the fact that Somalis have learned the ways of those that are hungry for power.

Hilowloow, meeqo sanaa jirtaa? And I mean, sincerely. I can't believe you believe whichever way the wind blows, every qashin qoraal aad aqrisid waa iska aamintaa. You just want to confirm your bias miyaa? Maskaxdaada isticmaal, fadlan.

Teeda kale, liiskaan been badan ka buuxdo. Dalal badan liiskaas ku jiro Soomaaliya daljirooyin uma joogin sideedameyadii. Wuxuuna si kas iyo laab ah ugu tagay ama u qariye safiiradii sida C/llaahi Caddoow, Cigaal, Caydiid oo ahaa danjiriyaal xiligaas. Iyaga daljiro soo ma ahayn in '80s?

Qashin List.

If its not qashin list, then where is Cadoow of USA or Australia's Mohamud SH Emli. Two long time HAG Ambassadors during Kacaan.

The list is not complete.

But there are detailed list and even books about the imbalance in the former Republic and the trend is quite obvious. one cant deny that.

Before you all cry foul, remember diplomats do not stay at a post forever but routinely get changed. This list from what I can gather seems to be towards the very end when the regime felt totally cornered and felt safe relying only on close kin. Gen. Aideed had already left India to join the SNM and then later to lead his 'armed' wing of the USC.

Some of the Ambassadorial postings MMA refers to as missing from the list where from earlier years before the last few years. The period this list refers to seems to be the last 3 years when Barre was referred to as the 'Mayor of Mogadishu' by the international news media (due to the central gov't having effective control of only the capital and a few garrisoned cities).

So what's the uproar about? That Barre's gov't was a pure clan-based regime, a fact the rest of the world accepts and repeated by every historical summary written by every major Foreign Ministry(I can post the links to the State Dept and British Foreign Service, but I know facts hold no sway among certain people)?

'Those who don't learn from history are bound to repeat it'
