ASWJ Forces To Be Integrated into FG Forces

Xunjuf, any administration that is premised only on qabiil and nothing else is doomed to fail. Unless we're talking about Bari where there is only 1 sub-sub-clan, it won't work any where else in Somalia. Look at Puntland. Initially it was meant for all of **** today it degenerated into rer Bari only. Even if **** agree to form Jubbaland, they would disintegrate as soon as the uniting factor (fear of HAG or HAG president) subsides. In way **** are fortunate because the president is HAG if he was **** there is no way all those **** herds would've congregated in Kismaayo.

People here as usuall don't understand how important this is...

I’m assuming the agreement is not a hoax but real. If that’s the case, this is a huge gain for the administration and folks who populate that region. I don’t know how Galmudug can survive considering it has only 1.5 districts (less than one administrative region)!

If this agreement holds, it is a game changer! From purely clan perspective, it appears Abudwaq & Balanbale residents -- a subclan from D block -- have now formalized their solid political alliance with other members of Galgaduud pact. For amateur folks in SOL who are not in the know about how 60s clan alliance dictated the political fortunes of ambitious politicians watch the current political dynamics as the tournament is a replay with different actors.

Note how the administration have dish out financial and other incentive without parliament's approval. ASWJ was financed and packed by Ethiopia in order to defeat AS. The same group is claiming that they are in debt. To whom, one may wonder, to their clan members, friends, businessmen? Are other constituents who fought against AS entitled to receive the same largesse? Or only constituents who are in sync (politically) with the administration stand to benefit from the public purse (actually IC handouts)?

The message is clear. Folks who implement administration's political objectives stand to benefit from government largesse. Constituents who agree with administration's view in rejecting clan federation political system and are willing to be directly ruled from the center will be rewarded by the federal government. Constituents who opt to have their own federal state will get nothing but strong disapproval and in some cases naked harassment from the federal government.

Let's wait and see how the Parliament reacts.

Shabeelaha Dhexe belongs to Indhocadde clan sxb. Now Abwan is gone, i have to defend the HAG ideology.

Baashi,

The administration is expected to find willing partners in the resource poor regions (what would Caddaado do without government help :D ). Come to Lower Shabeele and onward, and this administration will face stiff resistance. Bay, Bakool and Lower Shabeele will have its administration soon (in months). Jubba region is expected to declare a state in 45 days time. So I give A for president's political maneuvering, but I don't see an strategy I can respect.

I think the government is understanding the will of the people of Jubbaland. This is nothing more than an attempt to woo them. Galgaduud and ASWJ have always been in cahoots with Hassan Culusow and are all part of the HAG conspiracy.

Don't listen to this overly emphasized, reported and highlighted agreement in HAG web portals.

The slow increase of the diplomatic pressure..... Current trends are moving in support of Hassan Sheikh's camp.....

Below is the statement from the U.S. Mission to the UN (American Embassy to the UN).

U.S. Mission to United Nations On Resolution to Support Somalia

Mar 07, 2013 (United States Department of State) -- U.S. Mission to the United Nations

New York, New York

March 6, 2013

Today, the UN Security Council sent a clear signal of support to the new Somali Government. Resolution 2093 answers President Hassan Sheikh Mohamed's call for "one door to knock on," by unifying UN development and humanitarian work under the UN Special Representative's direction. It also aligns UN support to assist the Somali Government in delivering services to its citizens.

Importantly, in recognition of the Somali government's progress, the Security Council has agreed to suspend the arms embargo on the government of Somalia while providing safeguards to ensure responsible development of the security sector and leaving the ban on Al Shabaab and other terrorist and extremist groups in place.

We will continue to work to support the Government of Somalia as they endeavor to turn the page on two decades of civil war by maintaining recent progress and working closely with regional and international partners to improve the lives of all Somalis.
