Ideally yes but that would be suicide realistically speaking. By going our separate ways and each group deciding our own affairs, we only stand to get closer over time. It's land, resources and power that's dividing us at the moment, by giving each group just that, there'll be no more reason to hate each other.

Well, wouldnt you then say Somaliland is in a ideal situation.. : D

Not really, there are large groups of S/land that are unhappy. I would devolve power even further.

Happyness is not a good indicator for peoples preference of governance system, but bullets are. So unless a great portion or majority of population pick guns against the Goverment dont expect that goverment to lift itself.

Bullets? Why take it that far? And ofc the government won't lift itself, another power/entity is needed before that happens, but I seriously believe the devolution of the power is the way to go, but to straight down to the regions themselves. These states are too big in my opinion and hinder the transfer of power to the people.

An interesting video, to say the least. However, the video makes far more sense to Somalilanders than to those not familiar with the internal dynamics of the region.

The video definitely predates the Borama Shir, and seems to also predate the declaration of Somaliland in Burco (since none of the participants mention that significant development).

It's a testament to the Somaliland hybrid political system that several of those Awdal military officials from the former military regime were incorporated into successive Somaliland administrations (irrespective of their clan-related insecurities at the time of the video).

P.S. I appreciated the honesty of the General at the beginning (second to speak), that he along with other Awdal elites were used by the dictator to suppress the larger clan in the region...

^Keydmedia posts a heavily edited videos meant to revise history. That includes this video. Now if you disagree with that assertion, then great.

Who says this video or the other ones are revising history?
