i was listening to, and indulging in a bit of world music one night back in 2010. i thought i was listening to Magic System but his distinctive vocals were awe-inspiring, to say the least. i listened to the song again, again, and again.

 

there's a multi-layered mythology about Alpha Blondy, you know. apparently Bragadier Sabari was his alias during the 1980s at a time of great personal difficulty when he faced trouble from the feds. he adopted this name to avoid detection. interesting, maha?
