A centralized Somalia

Government officials who spoke to Garowe Online said that the actions of the Turkish government have given the impression that Turkey is in favor of a centralized Somalia. This has upset officials who thought Turkey was committed to the current roadmap in Somalia.

Last month Turkey’s Foreign Ministry’s spokesman Selcuk Unal said that the Turkish government had a four step approach for Somalia that included assisting the UN backed Transitional Federal Government (TFG) of Somalia to reach a democratic agreement.

Earlier this week, signatories of the previous agreements, with the international community watching closely wrapped up a meeting in Addis Ababa where issues regarding the Roadmap and the constitution were deliberated over. After amendments to the Somalia draft constitution were made and mandates were clarified, an agreement was signed.

In Sunday’s press statement Puntland and Galmudug leaders said that the Istanbul meeting defied all previous agreements signed by leaders from the TFG, Puntland, Galmudug and Ahlu Sunnah. According to the officials the upcoming meeting tried to limit authority of regional governments and was anti federalism.

Exactly, as stated, those niggas have chosen their side. If federalism and the natural resources bid went as Puntland thought, there would have been no need to run for the presidential election, we would sit back and mind our own business.

But now come August, we will be up to our old games, thank Sheikh Shariif. :D

That mother is living the way she is because of people and frame of work that the Turks support, that crisis was there long before Al-Shabaab, long before the ICU and long before any respective governments since the fall of Siad Barre.

The game won't affect their situation anytime soon.

^^ both PL and SL have peace. the secret, a desire to live like normal people around the world. what does this has to do with your picture or your point. if the mother you showed wanted peace, then one has to ask where are clan elders of southern somalia. where are the leaders of southern somalia. where are the religious leaders of souther somalia (no that the freaks in charge of the place now). and finally where is the disapora community from southern somalia. to me it say, if you want peace and normalcy, one has to work and continue to work in order to ensure peace stay. in other words young lad, peace is expensive. therefore, i ask again, what does politics and ensuring that our people do not end up like the poor mother in the picture has to do with your point. get real son.

Of course Turkey is in favor of centralized governance, think of all the redundancies and wastefulness that will result from federalism. They know they'll have to grease hundreds of grubby little hands instead of a few dozen.

And people wonder why Somalilanders want a separate country (not that I condone it).

What does that have to do with anything?
