Puntland and Galmudug Withdraw Participation at Istanbul Conference II on Somalia Joint Statement

LMAO@ Somalia's claim that 50+ billion has so far been spend on Mogadishu in the last 20 years through donations. Walee, its sad that the Somali Republic has lost individuals such as you and XX with such amazing propagandist skills to the clan-states, you guys could transform Somalia's image in a single week.

Fact however is, that figure you claimed above covers 22 billion spend on piracy-insurance and ransom (a problem originating in Puntland), billions in failed foreign interventions, 11 billion in countrywide aid and another 10 billion send back by the diaspora. Therefore such a vast amount of money was never spend on Mogadishu. In terms of corruption, notice how all of their examples is pre-Anti-Corruption Committee, where are the 2011-2012 figures?

Moonlight you don't know how malefactor Somalis are, people trying to sugarcoat as harmless what is taking place really do not understand where we have been and where we came from. We want transparency not covert Shabaab talks, centralization and money mismanaged in grandeur.

We are talking about a culture a mindset of people the looters inc who change shirts like a national sport. These are the same people who took bribes so that the Turkish Airline couldn't land in Mogadishu Aden Adde Airport. The same folk who ask for money at every turn and taxes for the Turkish Airline to operate in Mogadishu.

Thiefs, war profiteers and criminals. The Turks will soon know and get acquainted with the Mogadishu/Galgaduud folks. This people will strip them of their last penny. It's the same people and warlordism mentality who asked for money so in order to take the rubbish and toxic refuse out of their neighborhoods and asked for money or else they will murder those people who come to aid them. The Turks will await the same fate in Mogadishu, if they don't get their act together.

Maryooleey, maryooleey, what you fail to understand is that Faroole/Caalin's decision will only hurt their people. It is the people of Puntland and Galmudug who will potentially miss out on development money due to the actions of their foolish leaders. Instead of being outraged like Dukey was, you prefer to engage in debates dating back to the warlord era failing to see that Somalia has entered a new dawn. Sacabka sii tuma baan idin idhi.

Abwaan,

None sense - Since you are labeling me with Qabiil stained brush, at least have facts to back up your claims.

Can you point any instance, just one instance oo aan qof kula dagaalay in uu eed/dhaliil Siad Bare or Farmaajo ku eedeeyeey?.

Siyaad Barre (AUN) has done good / bad for Somalia, he was the head of a state for 21 years, impacted the lives of millions, each of whom, have every right to critique him in any way they see fit.

So, I ask you again. Since you opted for this cheap shot and characterazation, where I went on offence with regards to Barre (AUN) or Farmaajo Markii la dhaliilo??

Mise, waxaad ka gubatay markaan point gareeyay your flawed and hypocritical attack on Farmaajo oo aad ka samri wayday?.

Waxba meesha kuma haysid sxb, Your fake righteousness persona is standing on hallowed grounds. Any leader waa la dhaliili waana la eedayn - public figures can be slandered, defamed, or criticized, that is the price they pay - hadaad adiga Tolkaa qabiil ahaan buraashka ugu qaadid leader kooda, ragoo dhan saas ma'aha.

And the rest of the somalis are following them like sheeps. Hada faroole iyo caalin maxay diideen way shakiyeen turkigu reer hebel bu wata iyo wax lamid ah

The Turks have every right to do things in their own way or push for whatever agenda they wish, I don't think they are allied to any group or sub clan. Perhaps they are concentrating on Mogadishu and rightly so, its the capital and the main city that any foreign country will look at if they want to be involved in Somali peace and politics. However, Mogadishu has ceased to be a Somali city decades ago and became a sub clan dominated capital is not the fault of the Turkish. This is a contentious issue and a debate for another time and a different venue among the Somalis, to move the capital to elsewhere or allow all Somalis to have stake in everything equally such as political seats, development and business.

Balse Turkiga in lagu eedeeyo ma ahan inay Caasimada wax kaqabteen ee waxay tahay in lagu amaano, Caasimadeeni haday iyadu noqotay meelay intaas mushkilad kasocoda oo bahalo galeen oo waxkasta laqaysa reerna isku gooni yeelay waa ceeb Somali utaala una baahan inay wax kaqabtaan oo Somalida kawada hadlaan, I was one of the proponents to move the capital to a different city even if it has to be temporarily.

The other point is, why are we getting all angry about Turk's involvement even if their pushing for their own agenda regardless of our desire when IGAD and Ethiopia are our masters. Ethiopia does in Somalia anything they want, they support/oppose anyone they like, enter Somali a and captors Somali cities at will and push for any god damn agendas it wishes. I have never both SL and Puntland protest against Ethiopia's involvement.

I'm for Turkey doing whatever they want and conquering the whole country. Ethiopia way haysataa meesha Turkiga maxaan kudiidaysiin inay wadanka iska maamushaan amaba qabsadaan gabigiisa.

A recent confidential audit of the Somali government suggests that in 2009 and 2010 some 96 percent of direct bilateral assistance to the government had simply disappeared, presumably into the pockets of corrupt officials.

If you want I'll find the audit for you later, I had the pdf file, anti corruption committee was said up in 2011.

You do realise that these two will eventually go to the conference, don't you? It's all a bit of horse trading and trying to extract as many concessions as possible before attending the meeting (heck, even SL is doing that).

As for Turkey having ulterior motives, well that's an obvious smoke screen (even if it were true), because it will not only be Turks and Somalis in that conference, the usual suspects will also be there and, when push comes to shove, Turkey can not force its own agenda on the meeting without the say so of the other world powers. The Imam realises this and understands the whole 'spoiler' tag but, like a little kid, he's sulking and thinking that a tantram will get him what he wants.

Lets see how it developes.
