NAIROBI, Kenya — Witnesses say a second explosion has gone off in downtown Nairobi, and an Associated Press reporter at the scene says he can see at least one dead body.

The blast happened Monday evening near a bus stop where working class Kenyans gather to find transportation home.

The Kenyan Red Cross reported on its Twitter feed that one person was killed and eight others were taken to the hospital.

A grenade blast went off early Monday in a working-class bar. A dozen people were wounded, three seriously.

Bad bad news ...Kenya a country that enjoyed relative peace and stability, where Somalis of all walks of life sought refugee is now shaken by explosions.

That is because under the influence of bad counsel, Kenya invaded Somalia without regard to its sovereignty, bombarding Kismayo, one of few peaceful cities in the south.

One thing Ethiopia couldn't do is match Kenya's economic supremacy. This misadventure might change that.

I thought ethio's incursion were paid and so no cost to its economy beside the man power yet it failed to sustain it. So I am not so sure if the Kenya's economic superiority will make much difference in this incursion.BTW any updates about this incursion..

^I mean this invasion will be advantageous to Ethiopia economically.

On progress of the Kenyan advance, no real fighting has taken place yet, AS will evecuate towns and villages and will give Kenyans false of sense security. They have learned not to fight mechanized army. Supposedly, the weather is also hampering things/

Kenya: Second explosion in Nairobi

A blast has gone off at a bus stop in Kenya's capital, Nairobi, killing at least one person, police say.

An earlier grenade attack on a bar in the city wounded 12 people.

The attacks happened two days after the US embassy in Kenya warned that an attack by Islamist militants from neighbouring Somalia was imminent.

But Kenyan Police Commissioner Matthew Iteere said there was no evidence linking the bar attack to the militants from the al-Shabab group.

The Kenyan government sent troops to Somalia more than a week ago to pursue the militants after accusing them of being behind a spate of abductions on its territory.

Al-Shabab, which is linked to al-Qaeda and controls much of southern and central Somalia, denies involvement in the kidnappings but has warned of reprisals if Kenyan troops do not withdraw from Somalia.

Kenya's Red Cross said on its Twitter feed that eight casualties had been rushed to Kenyatta National Hospital.

Few foreigners were abducted allegedly by AS and Kenya acted by invading Somalia. Now the marauded teenagers retaliated back(if they are behind this) with explosions(something they are good at). What now? Round up all Somalis including those that are Kenyan citizens? Close the borders? Deport the refugees back to their homeland? If the whole thing was about border crossing and kidnapping, then Kenya could have avoided all of this by simply securing it's borders borders without making all the fuss of late. But if AS was just a scape goat sort of, to invade Somalia, then Kenya should prepare itself for further violence from these guys. Only the poor Somalis and Kenyans will be the losers at both ends of the line.

OHG.

Kenya is under attack! They called for this upon themselves. It's dog eat dog's world; and they are collecting the fruits of their latest idiotic actions. Let's see if they panic or stand right on their feet to do something about it in a meaningful and measured way. Or otherwise attack and focus on the poor Somalis living in Eastleight - to a fruitless end. Alshabaab and their foreign terror network will hit you from where you least expect them, in this case they will use local trained people with local knowledge and know-how to-about, notably Kenyan NFD Somalis or the Swahilis in the coast and even may be other local Kenyan ethnicity rather than the refugees living Eastleigh.

Alshabaab's ideology and retaliation tactic is beyond one-border, one-ethnicity or one-target. The operative word here is: They are GLOBAL.

Kenya will lose its main economic income, ie tourism.

They deserve no mercy since they decided to invade Somalia
