The Hargeisa of 1991

Recommended Posts

Juxa

Yes it will be in the history but JB indhahaada kala fur, be honest with yourself. you are not reporting history, you are instigating cuqdad iyo nacayb.

siyad barre and his regime are gone, somali caradii alle baa ku wada dhacday, 20 years and 1oo thousands people died.

At least Hargeysa is doing well, that is something to celebrate oo alle looga mahadnoqo.

now move on and let the dead rest in peace qoriyahow soo taagan

I really don't know what the fuss is all about folks. Bad things happen and people move on. We can forgive but to forget is an injustice to the many thousands that were murdered by their government. This is the kind of history that brings people together and hopefully builds a stronger more united State as a result. These are the foundations of SL and the sacrifices made should never be forgotten.

Try to understand the political motivations for posting this. It serves to reinforce and strengthen a collective identity through a shared history.

Juxa

indeed the sacrifices and the victims should never ever be forgotten!

JB...we could engage in endless useless discussion but it boils down to this, a sword is two edged, you cant have people who served the regime and participated in its ideology as part of your lovely dowlad and at the same breath blame an entire somali for causing or permitting the atrocity committed

go'aan gaar and choose or else lets move forward, taariiqda hala qoro baab cusubna hala furo.

Somalia/land as a whole need to heal and need to forgive

Look where u went now Juxa ,,,, Some clarifications for you:

you cant have people who served the regime and participated in its ideology as part of your lovely dowlad

I said it is part of the history dee not that they should be killed or hanged .... It is what happened and they know they were part of it.

blame an entire somali

I said SOMALI GOVERNMENT ,,,, not entire Somali population.

These people are still denying history. they try to cover it up with what they have done to eachother the past 20 years, but that aint gonna work.

This history cant be covered up or polluted with your wrong vieuws of the past 20 years.

JB, while you are writing what Somali Government did in 1988 and 1991 in Hargaisa, also add a chapter on what SNM did in 1991 and 1994, at least that will be complete history, hadii kale naga daa sheekadaan aan dhamaystirnayn.

everyone is responsible for their own fate. Somaliland's rise from the ashes like a phoneix is the collective effort of all its people. we take no pride in the suffering of people irrespective of where they are from. Somaliland's success doesnt necessarily mean the former Somalia has to be stuck in the dark. We can all be winners. take action and be proactive Che. you've played the guilt-ridden victim for far too long.
