What regional war?

Recommended Posts

The threats about a regional war is quite amusing, for one who will fight? Eritre?

Kenya, TFG,Ethiopia, Yemen are all on one side, so who is fighting this regional war, Djibouti?

^^^lol. XOX, Ethiopia declared war on courts, why have the Eritreans not declared war?

Ethiopia, Uganda, Kenya, Yemen say they all support the TFG, wants arms embargo lifted and have put a motion to support this in front of the security council.

Eritrea covertly supports the Clan Courts, though denies it openly.

So where is the regional war gonna take place? In Mars?

Only Yemen supports, but the rest of the Arab league backs the ICU financially and morally, what can few poor countries do,when the ICU has all the wealthy ones on their side giving them all the support they need not to mention the support of the majority of the Somali people everywhere.

If you think about it, Ethiopia and Eritrea are waging a poor-man's Cold War. Fighting proxy wars via regions of the former Somali State proper. Somalis should look to the past and draw some valuable lessons as to how to deal with this morass. Further, unless one is under delusions, Ethio/Eritrea meddling in Somalia is the ineluctable outcome of years of petty squabbling and political abulia among Somalis. If you don't get your act together, it's only matter of time before others do it for you. And if politics wasn't exceedingly reactionary, say maybe a tad bit progressive, we prolly have headed-off this precarious pass.

The war will take place in PUNTLAND!

... and that's just the way the cookie crumbles.

^^^Red Sea, a valid point, the Arabs are supportive, but the clossest one geographicly is against the Clan Courts.. Though I have had no proof that any Arab nation is willing to come out and say we support the clan courts. We know Yemen supports the TFG, but we are assuming the rest are against it.

One can assume that the US, China and the UK are supporting the TFG thus making the rich Arabs null and void.. An assumption you see.

Bambo, You need to learn how to read without being emotive, I did not say the Eritreans are not supporting the Clan Courts, but unlike Ethiopia they have not declared war on the TFG nor Ethiopia so far.. They denied that they support the Clan Courts at every turn.

A regional war needs to be frought by more than one country.

Why are you here boosting Ethopia Declaration of war againts icu /south somalia clans .

The Assumption that Ethopian troops will escort adder Yusuf to vilaa somalia is rediculs ., That can happen only through masscaring the civilians since they make up icu ,

how does these benefit TFG , Melez has his reasone which is icu are undermining his policy in eastafrica and are dangerouse to his regime survival .

Whats in for Puntlanders I WOnder

I have one question if I amy,to all, but most importantly to those of you who still see ethiopia and somalia through the old glasses as if nothing has happened to both countries in the last two decades.

My question is:

Why do you define somali interests in terms of ethiopia? Shouldn't you first define clearly somali interests and then line up or put the outsiders on which side they belong and how far or how near they are to the somali interest?

For example: I see some somalians (those in the republic)all of a sudden waking up that there is a country called ethiopia next door. This happens everytime without fail, when ethiopia attempts to do something with its rivers that flow northwest to sudan and egypt.

Doesn't the somali has the same interests as egypt does about water from ethiopia? Ethiopia will take water from both northwest and southwest and southwest. The game is to make ethiopia take less from rivers that come to your country as the egyptians are openly advocating now for themselves. They are saying that ethiopia can use its other rivers, why does she need to use the nile. Shouldn't somalia think about this and say ethiopia should be made to use her north and west rivers and leave alone the southeastern rivers? Only few politicians and intellectuals from somalia have raised this issue and it doesn't seem to register with many.

Why would the Kenyans negotiate with ethiopia to take them into consideration in its MEGA projects that are underway and not a word from Somalia. Even far away Djibuti has its interests made part of the electrical grid.

It will not be long before the world starts across nations pipelines for water.

Thats just one example. If I start of the somalia the most endowed with ports and the best positioned for redsea or indian ocean trade to all of africa east up to Uganda...thats a subject in itself.

Bambo, brother I am not boosting anyone side, just reporting how silly the arguments of some here are.

What regional war? There is a war between Clan Courts and the national government of Somalia.

The TFG has the legitimate right to secure the country by any means. The Clan Courts belive they have the right to use any method, lies murder, agression, land grabs to secure their future.

So do not try to play dumb, you know the stakes and who were pushing the "Jihad against Tigray" card from the beginning.

^well Somalia doesn't require that much.So even the polotically lame Arabs all of sudden appear as big to us,well just take note,as yemen is considered by major player in Somali politics,in reality we know Yemen's role in world politics ,absulate zero.

The TFG is big failure for those expected it to succeed.

^^^Your delusions are not facts dear boy. You have been making these statements for a while now. Get over it the game is still open and the TFG is much stronger than ever before.

duuliye,

One suggestion if I may. Never call your fellow countryman by forsign names, if you have any intention at all of living together in one country after the mess is cleared. Even though its wrong to speak of master and slave terms, Its always preferable if you speak of master yourself or master your opponent as fellow countrymen.

There are in ethiopia also similar type as you who used to call most of the current government as eritrean at one time, somalian another time now they only call it Tigray, because those people are themselves in America.

Its a very bad culture of saying things that would prevent a conversation with your fellow countryman. Because once you start using those names its the end of the raod, no conversation after that, there is nothing to negotiate about.

You also need to consider that your side or clan or whatever your corner is may have masters if thats the language you like.
