French headscarf ban recommended

Recommended Posts

Khayr

Salaamz,

I think that it is a

BLESSING IN DISGUISE, if they banned the Hijab

at their Public Schools.

Why?

Cause then Muslims in France

would wake up to the Reality that they are

Muslims and not FRENCH and that they are in a

nonmuslim land.

So to preserve their deen, they need to segregate

and not INTEGRATE.

Oppression is good for muslims cause it

UNITES THEM and makes them RE-DISCOVER THEIR ISLAM.

^^Good point Khayr

I think we (muslims) will have a case to also ban crucifixs, skull caps, rastas, turbans, etc as the banning of hijaabs will be a precedent, pay a few good lawyers well and u never know!

That is a good point. But i dont think it has to do with being French. The reason i say that is there around 2 million french born Muslims. Are they not considered Muslims. Being integrated into French culture does not mean all muslims in France should dine with wine and pork, but into speaking the language and respecting the French Rule of Law. Wearing the headscarfe is a personal choice. I dont think this ban will go through. However this is a wakeup call to all Muslims living in non-muslim countries.

This is indeed a minor display of how far the institutions will go to silence the choice of the people, particularly the choice of the Muslim women who without compulsion or fear of no one else opted to dress this way for a greater cause in which they believe.

Indeed this is a case of truth exposed...behind that fake smile, and equal rights and personal freedom laws lay a cynical agenda....ban the headscarf today but I truly believe what is gonna come next should be both more worrying and shocking..

Basically, Islam is seen as the single biggest threat to Europe today by the Europeans. Too many damn Muslim immigrants for their liking, corrupting their free secular way of life and its about time they took care of the problem.

Worrying thing is that this ban is probably just the tip of the iceberg. I'm sure things will get a lot worse for European Muslims. I dare say we'll prevail tho I'A... smile.gif

I dont think France or any other country in Europe want to start another bloody religous war. There are hardcore nationalist whose main agends are to get ridoff all immagrants, however it is not in their best interest, specially economically. They have too much to loose.

I dont think they (hardcore christain or socialist parties) can do any thing to hurt Islam 'cause they know Islam is way too powerfull for them. The main questions are the Muslim as powerful and united as Islam. That is why Laws such as banning the headscarf is just a test on how Muslim would respond. A test to see how many Muslim actually practice Islam.

"I dont think France or any other country in Europe want to start another bloody religous war."

Not overtly, no. Laakiin wax weyn ayaa socda, ey ka mid tahay a sustained media propoganda to incite Islamaphobia within the population. Walaalkiis Muslims maanta aad ayaa loogu kacsan yahay, and despite what government heads say, their actions tell a different story. Meel baan ka akhriyayey the other day that a ridiculous number of Muslim males were being held in American, British, and other European Jails without any charges, for an indeterminate time. They dont have access to the evidence against them, they cant even talk to their lawyers...because they are being held on the suspicion that they may be terrorists or connected to terrorists. Apparently the only qualification a terrorist needs is to be a muslim.

This doesn't happen to anybody else...I dont know what u call it, but I call whats happening today a 'war'.

The debate on banning Hijab is going on everywhere ... in Sweden, Denmark, USA.

As of now, France is probably the most "Muslim-Friendly" western power in the world. I don't think it will happen.

We can't blame these western countries when muslims are taking the lead on banning Hijab. I mean look at Turkey ... that is a muslim Country and they banned Hijab.

Actually, if there are many opposition groups against this ban on wearing a scarf to school. If they haven't noticed by now, France has the largest Muslim (and Jewish) community in Europe. The real problem is that birth rates in Europe are dropping and there are a high level of immigrants. French people may feel threated by this, there some people who talking about a Europe of the future in which whites will be a minority.

Also, this is a country in which a National Front party wa elected by a large section of the population. All over Europe far right extremists are gaining more power in politics. The situation could get explosive in the future, especially since the media criminalizes immigrants on a daily basis. The real threat to them is the lack of 'Frenchness' in wearing a scarf. Ever wonderd why no one calls blond german people migrants in France? The wearing of Xijab is very visible.

They are currently fighting in Rotterdam (Holland) to stop a mosque that is being build to look 'less islamic', as in no islamic architecture. You can see where they are going with all these remarks...

True indeed.

But like khayr said, I believe in the long run it will serve the Islamic cause. Inshallah, the Muslims will wake up and realise that they are disliked for laa ilaaha ila Allah and irrespective of how western they try to be, that will always be a sticking point. The Bosnians learnt it the hard way, the Turks are learning it the hard way and it seems now our brethren in the rest of Europe are next in line and going to learn the hard way.

I heard this on BBC, and they were covering it as if Islamic standards don't require the hijab for modesty. I cannot believe their ignorance. Even if they feel the need to listen to modern interpretations, it should be obvious to media outlets such as BBC that there is a strong contingent of Muslims who do indeed see the hijab as required.

Jacque Chirac is also banning Jewish skullcaps. The man is an anti-semite and an Islamophobe! How a nation which cries Liberty and Fraternity elect such a racist as their leader is completely beyond me.

Inshallah muslims learn to stand for their beleifs, or we will be headed in a direction I dont even want to imagine.

PARIS, Dec. 10 — The police shut down a day care center and a kindergarten last week that were being run by Islamic militants, Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy told the National Assembly on Wednesday.

Mr. Sarkozy said the centers, in two southern Paris suburbs, were of "Salafist inspiration." Salafist is a term used by some Islamic militants to describe their movement.

The kindergarten and the day care center, which were attended by 42 children, were closed Dec. 2 after the local prefect received information from intelligence agencies that they were being run by Islamic groups.

The prefect, Michel Delpuech, said the heads of the associations running the centers "are known to the police for their links with radical Islamic groups."

"One of the two people was actually convicted for an offense involving an Islamic group," he said.

The centers were shut down when the groups, which are officially registered as nonprofit associations for after-school activities, failed to meet various health codes and administrative standards, officials said.

The kindergarten was run out of a former store in the Antony suburb. The curriculum for its 16 children, aged 3 to 5 years, involved daily prayer and religious education. The day care center operated out of an apartment in a subsidized housing project in Fontenay-aux-Roses. The establishments themselves were not registered.

"When the police came to close down the two centers, they saw a 3-year-old little girl who was wearing a veil," Mr. Delpuech said. In recent months, the French government has looked at the possibility of passing a law that would bar girls from wearing head scarves in public schools in an effort to maintain France's tradition of secularism.

"What we had there were people who were openly proclaiming their faiths and their desire to teach it to their children," Mr. Delpuech said. "We found many teaching items at the centers that marked a strong link to Islam. This is not, of course, a crime in any way, but the state must make sure that establishments that welcome children are safe and healthy. I had an obligation to close down these schools."

Because the centers were closed for administrative reasons, the heads of the associations risk only minor fines. Officials said the police investigation was not yet complete, and prosecutors had not decided whether to press charges.
