As Somaliland opens up to the rest of the world, it has to brand itself which is something most African and developing nations struggle with. We have to make sure that only the right kind of people visit our nation.

To demonstrate what I'm talking about, think of places like Thialand that are a hub for drunkeness and sex. In contrast, think of Tibet which attracts culture and spiritual types.

The challanges we face are enourmous but we have an opportunity to do great things with our young nation. I hope it becomes a place associated with incredible things and one that leads in something like India leads in IT. A place of knowledge, intelligence and of course commerce

First wlc to the forum brother. Insha Allah, many of those aspirations will come true and it will take hard work and believe in one’s ability to see them accomplished.

Thinking about this reminded me of a poem I came across couple nights ago, it's called Waan Qaloonayaa & it’s not for the linguistically challenged lol..I kid, enjoy it guys.

Qayayaabay oo kacay

Waxaan idhi qisaa timid.

Qabyo inay xad dhaaf tahay

Waa la isla qirayaa.

.

.

.

Haddaan taada qaataba

Dalkan qaaliga aheed

Wax u qabo i leedahay

Wixii iga qabsaday beri

Waa la isla qirayaa

.

.

.

Qabowga iyo Barafkaa

Qadh-qadhyo igu reeboo

Dhaxantaay qombobisoo

Qorraxdaan la’aanteed

Cuduradan ka qaadoo

Waan qaloonayaa oo

Qaban maayo meeshanoo

Qaladbaana ku joogaa.

Marka aan qiyaasana

Hayska qaldanaadee

Waxaan tabay qabiilkii.

Qalwadaydu sheekh ma laha

Qalbi iyo Dareen ma lihiye

Iga qaad faraha oo

Igana quuso baan idhi.

Qaylaabu kaga kacay

Qaadaa dig feedhaha.

Kaa quusan maayee

Qowlkan aan ku leeyahay

Haddaad qaadan weydo

Dhiig kuu qul-quli maayo

Neefta waa qafilyoo

Aynu wada qasaarnee

Ruuxaaban kaa qaban.

Hadday ugu qadhaadhahay.

Qalbigaygan Wacanow

Maad ahayn qal-qaaliye

Qaadaa ma dharagtada

Qadoodiga ku seexdaa

Qiiradan ku galisee

Is Qabooji baan idhi.

Waan qaatay amarkoo

Qasabana waan ku yeelee

waxaan qaban karaayeed

Qoondaysay ii sheeg.

.

.

.

Qabyadaydu badanaa

Miyaan boqol u qaybsami

Ibtisaam, what is the problem with being transit on Wajeer? Mise Somalidaa ka carareysaa. :D

Seriously though, I would travel via Addis Ababa instead of Nairobi any day, any minute. Those freaking Kenyans are corrupt and would keep you at the airport till u pay them some kind of bribery.
