The Father of the Ogad'en Somali Revolution: M.Dahir

My people are under no one's jurisdiction and take orders from no one but me. We have no intention of observing any caese-fire. Our fight with Ethiopia has nothing to do with Somalia. We are indifferent to the government position, though still we hope and expect our movement will be recognized both by Somalia and world-The Father of the revolution.

He means if the government of Somalia pursued peace with EThiopia or compromised on the Ocaden- then it would have no impact on their struggle for freedom. In other words, their struggle should not have been controlled from Muqdisho..........

Not even that.

I thought the initial plan to fight was to create the 5 ta soomaaliyeed basically. It was not expected to see the founder (great man indeed) was saying we have nothing to do with Somalia.

^^Yes, but there was always tensions between the freedom fighters and the SOmali gov from what I have read. Secondly, if you read the second sentence(" our position is indifferent to the SOmali government) and the tone on tone of the interview- one can see that the man was trying to distance himself from Somali irredentism. Remember the Ethiopians were claiming to the world that Somalia wanted to take a part of Ethiopian and change the colonial border which all of Africa and the world was against. So it is understandable that he would say this to media to make his movement seem like a movement which was independent of the SOmali government. Whether he actually believed this is another issue. Where is Macalin AT- this his turf.

That makes sense.

But seeking an independent from Ethiopia will still be changing the colonial borders even if they don't join Somalia.

Either ways the argument is still there ....

Shan baa ku waashay adna.

Let me tell you that UNITY of the shanta is dream, just a dream of those somalis who are for PAN-somalism and free from clanish sentiments.

Nacasnimadaadaa meelkasta la taagantahay. Always looking for reasons to discredit Soomaaliweynimo. If you don't like it, there are other people who love that dream. Everybody can't be clanist, you know.

Makhtal Dahir is a true Ogad'en Somali native and indeed we need more men of his caliber. It has been posted to have let all these suspicious characters to see that the name of Og'adenia has always been Ogad'enia. You can also see how the Somali goverment at the time made deal with Ethiopia.

The point is the Ogad'en Somali people seek their freedom as an Ogade'nians nothing less nothing more.

There is no such thing as Western Somalia.
