1. Oil & Gas exploration :

We have had many a thread on this project.

It’s spearheaded by Range resources an Australian firm and by African Oil a Canadian outfit.

Somalia, and in particular Puntland, remains one of the last under-explored countries that has a high potential for considerable reserves of hydrocarbons which can be subsequently developed for the benefit of both the people of Puntland and Range Shareholders The Company believes that through the generation of work and government royalties from hydrocarbon and mineral exploration and development numerous social and economic benefits will result.

1. the animal quarantine: Puntland admin with the help of Sultanate of Oman & the UAE & Saudi Arabia’s Al Jabari firm have built a new quarantine that will help the prospects of the livestock industry in Somalia. Putland has already sealed contracts with Algeria, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Yemen and other Middle Eastern states to export livestocks directly. The quarantine will provide health and safety liscensing and also make it easy for the suppliers and buyers to conduct a swift business.

It is the largest such project in the Horn of Africa let alone the Somali state.

Sea & airport project:

Presdient Cade has signed an agreement with Dubai ports authority to run the sea and airports of Bossaso and a couple of other cities notably Eyl.

This project is yet another example highlighting the importance that Cade and his admin have placed on getting foreign investment for the state.

While we are at the early stages with regards to this initiative, one can not overlook the fact that this must have something to do with the oil and gas project for if its completed the ports and airspaces of the state will become infinitely more active and can we manage it? Not at this time.

People are working hard to achieve something in Puntland, there are cyperwarrior who can't achieve anything in the cyperspace, and keep complaining when others try to improve poor people's live in Somalia. Ade achieved something without cyperwarrior help and he will achieve more without cyperwarriors. May God help him attain his goals soon -insha-allah.

General Duke, I must commend you for your tireless efforts to educate us and present us unbaised news from different portals from back home. You are one of the real sons of Somalia nation. Keep up the good work and don't get disappointed when the nay sayers discourage you or challenge you certain issues.

Ethiopian Troops Kill More Than 40 People

By Salaad Iidow Hasan (Hiis), Hiiraan Online

sxiis@hiiraan.com

Friday August 15, 2008

Mogadishu, Somalia (HOL) – Ethiopian troops have killed more than 40 people this afternoon in an area near the town of Afgoye known as Arbiska. The people were civilians traveling in passenger vehicles.

The victims were in two passenger vehicles. The killing of these civilians appears to be intentional as Ethiopian troops continued to fire on the passengers until there was no movement (perhaps to make sure everyone in the vehicles is dead).

This brutal killing of civilians riding in passenger vehicles seems the worst atrocity aimed at passengers although in the past Ethiopian troops killed unarmed civilians in several occasions and at several places.

The number of civilians Ethiopian troops killed in the last 24 hours exceeds 50 when we include other civilians Ethiopian troops killed this morning in an area near former military camp located off the main road that links Mogadishu and Afgoye and others who were killed near Makka Al-Mukarrama street.

The killings of these civilians by Ethiopian troops comes at a time when this morning Ethiopian troops were targeted with explosions in the area between Mogadishu and Afgoye as well as four attacks they faced several days ago when they were traveling on the main road that links Mogadishu and Baidoa.
