ONLF FIGHTS MANY FRONTS

Recommended Posts

Duufaan

Do you remember ambassador C/asiis what he done to people of region. The young people Cigaal handed to Ethiopian government, accusing just being member of ONLF. That was back than. The ONLF changed it is warfare policy. Since 2004, ONLF burned 55 cars registered Somaliland. Radiolaascaanood received warning from ONLF third time yesterday. This time ONLF is warning anyone who helping Somaliland traders do business in the region will be also target. What else can I say the cheap joke, selling Somaliland backfired, it only woke up sleeping chain. The next could be military confrontation and pure ethnic cleanse, if Somaliland do not rethink it is ill policy to neighbors tribe.

I see similarities between these that are burning down tracks that are carrying Food and Goods to the warravaged peoples of that region and those that highjacked a ship carrying food Relief to Tsunami Effected regions in Somalia. What was the word that Sky used?

Interesting comparison from your part!. But if you read carefully the demand of ONLF, it is very simple. Let our jailed people free and leave us alone. Otherwise stay your home and we stay our home. Somali kalxishooda male ee kalbaqa ayey lethal †Somalis are not rational but fear consequences of their deeds. This more civilized action of ONLF may lead to solution or understanding between Somaliland and ONLF and people they represent.

For the hijacked boat destinated to Boosaaso, it has nothing to do with somebody being savage, it is more imagination ,quick thinking and easy way to get reach from part of Moqdisho warlords. Sorry for Baasaaso people, they have much better way getting back what they lost

ONLF has gone mad, burning trucks of innocent Somalis from, to use the euphemism, Somaliland tribe is outrageous. All I see is a Somali rebel group that lost focus and doesn't see that it is making itself guilty of Intra-Somali violence. Nevertheless I can understand the anger and frustration our brothers from Jigjiga and Godey are feeling towards the controversial actions of Somaliland of handing over ONLF men to Addis Ababa, only to be tortured and executed in the dark Ethiopian cells for wanting freedom and justice for their Somali people.

What I do think is a positive development is the drastic change of the economic landscape of the Soomaali Galbeed region. Where Berbera used to be the prime import/export outlet for this vast region for centuries, now Bosasso has wholeheartedly taken over that role for even as far as Jigjiga which is a stonethrow away from Hargeisa. Somaliland's political bloopers and the long overdue tribal shirs in Jigjiga, Godey and London surely have put some speed to the new growing links the Soomaali Galbeed and Puntland regions now enjoy.

Anyhow, I think ONLF should put its guns down and start talks with Addis Ababa, because their inital goal is virtually impossible, at least for now it is. They should pursue Somalis in Ethiopia get their rightful share as 'Ethiopians'. Koley Life goes one doesn't it?

Really? Put down the guns and talk with whom? To that criminal called Meles? How long does it take to learn the deceits of Meles and his crooks for some of us? or could it be that we know it all but just not objective or blinded by self interest? ONLF did put their guns down bro fyi, but they were faced with what they feared the most, dishonesty and empty promises.

The Political atmosphere could never be better for ONLF and they are at their heydays and if you think they do not have the political weight to drive these thugs out of the Region, isn’t fair to say that neither Meles has this power because, if he does, ONLF should not be operating every corner of the region

Sxb our demand is very simple too. Let the unarmed non-military civilians go about their usual business. But we do NOT want to see ONLF members in our country. And that is where the problem is. There is an estimated 50,000 members from that clan who call Hargeisa their city, they were born in it, they fathers fathers were born in it and it is their city too. That shows this is not about Qabiil or anything like that, but sidii xeegona xeego u noqoto ilkona u nabadgalaan, we do not want ONLF members in our midst. It is simple as that.

The bottom line in any business is - competitive prices. If the sack of Sugar from Bosaso port costs $20 and the same sack of Sugar from Berbera costs $22 dollars, of course the customer will buy the $20 dollar one. The price judges what the customer buys.

What contributes to the pricing of the goods are:

1. The taxation regime of the port and all the other red-tapes that might be involved.

2. The distance that the goods must travel before they get to their intended market. (Fuel costs, track costs, driver costs etc)

3. Bribes and other corruption related costs for fast processing the goods

If Berbera's authority restructures its tax policy and its services, it is very easy for its goods to be more cheaper than Bosaaso.
