I assume they became takfiiris once they opposed the Sharif-TFG, but they were, in your words, noble knights of Somalia and the brave boys of Al-Shabaab when they were spilling the blood of Ethiopian troops and TFG-Yey militia ?

Your hypocritical contradictions are amazing. A quick archives search will turn up a multitude of comments of you not only praising Al-Shabaab, but their leaders, and their manhaj as well . Wait, let me guess: You have 'evolved' in your thinking. You've decided to run for the office of Somali liaison to the Mayor of Minneapolis so you've recently discovered the virtues of 'moderation'.

Al-Shabaab haven't changed their stance. They fought Yey yesterday(and exiled him) and so they fight Shariif Al-Khabeeth today(and will soon exile him). The man who is guilty of flip-flopping and which the reading audience expects a thorough explanation is you, friend. Geesinimada aa kaga jawaabtay su'aashayda la imow, and give us a explanation.

ouch!

Kashafa is a truth teller nothing less.

When Ethiopian openly invaded somalia though Sh. hotel was the one who declared jihad, many nomads were still outraged by the invasion. Today, Alshabab hasn't declare jihad on Ethiopia or openly said they would venture into Ethiopia. Now Ethiopia has illegally reentered somalia AGAIN, they are signing different tune saying that this time it's justified. What a joke. If your political team loses it doesn't mean you have to lose your dignity which is exactly what some nomads in here have done. I think if the world stays out of somalia, the quicker we can reach conclusion as Alshabaab tries to cease the last few blocks of land from the ramnants of last era warlords and new comers such as sh. hotel, who by the way doesnt know a thing about governing anything as he has shown. Alshabab must gain control of all the south and bring law and order. The AMISOM must leave somalia and the TFG well, they were xaram marka hore. Either denounce your public position and carry on civilian life or simply leave the country or face justice under the shades of the sharp blade.

^It's not fair to generalize all Somalis.

We want happiness, courage to accept change and fix our defects, willingness to avail ourselves to the resources that lie beneath our feet, Joy to live a better life and pass on, Peace to enforce, and enlightenment to venture into the unknown knowledge of Allah. Once we reach the threshold of peace consciousness, enlightenment comes next. InshaAllah, Somalia shall rise from its current misery and predatory disorder.

East African Govts Condemn Eritrea Harshly

A group of East African states has called for air and sea blockades of Somalia to prevent outside forces - including the Eritrean government - from sending weapons and fighters to support rebels trying to overthrow the Somali government.

The group, the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), has launched what is, in the language of diplomacy, a harsh attack on Eritrea for its support of hard-line Islamist militants fighting the transitional federal government of Somalia.

A meeting of IGAD's council of ministers held in Addis Ababa on Wednesday issued a communique saying that it "condemns... in the strongest terms possible all the individuals, organizations and countries in particular the Government of Eritrea and its financiers who continue to instigate, recruit, train, fund and supply the criminal elements in and or to Somalia."

It called for sanctions against Eritrea and condemned its government for backing attacks on African Union peacekeepers in Somalia.

IGAD comprises the governments of Djibouti, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, Sudan and Uganda. The Eritrean government was not listed as being represented at Wednesday's council meeting. Among those who did attend the meeting was Jean Ping, who chairs the African Union Commission.

The council called on the United Nations Security Council to impose a no-fly zone to prevent arms, ammunition and "personnel from [the rebels']... foreign backers" from being flown into Somalia. It singled out the following airports as those which needed to be blockaded: Kismayo, Baidoa, KM 50, Balidoogle, Waajid, Hudur, all airports in Gedo Region, Isaley and Johwar.

The council also urged the blockading of ports, particularly Kismayo and Merka, and asked the international naval forces which have been deployed against pirates in the region to enforce the blockade.

Lol@xaluufi saghiir, don't know what it means but it sure sounds funny.

Your argument is as silly as the war you support. Alshabaab is a takfiri group, if you didn’t hear it before you will hear it from the culumaa soon. They showed some takfiri tendencies before but today they are killing people quite literally because in their takfiri thinking, their opponents are:

1- suufi mushriks (as you yourself called it) or

2- infidel supporters, which is another way of saying they are kuffaar or

3- tfg troops, a tfg which they already declared dawlah riddah (dawlad gaalo ah).

Another important fact that keligii Muslim Kashafa wants to conceal is most people including me supported Islamic Courts. Islamic Courts had a military component that was primarily comprised by alshabaab fighters. When the Islamic Courts won the war against Mogadishu warlords every sane person saw it as a victory for Somali people. Alshabaab brilliantly manipulated and managed all the subsequent events to their advantage however, without many people realizing it. They started a war in the midst of a serious negotiation because they could and because they wanted the Somali conflict to continue until their terms are met. As the crushing defeat came, many regular fighters, some court leaders, and the majority of Somali scholars realized the real agenda of this group. They quietly worked for peace and reconciliation, and restrained criticizing a group whose activities were seen as patriotic by the majority of the masses in the south due to the harsh Ethiopian, and western bombardments.

That was then.

Today what we have is a different situation.

1- Ethiopians have withdrawn,

2- A man who once led the Islamic Courts is in the helm

But that, as it turned out, was NOT enough for alshabaab. They had other plans for Somalia and its people. So They started another war. But the good thing is that they are exposed now. They don't enjoy the sympathy and the support as they once did.

Why did you support the courts yesterday, and oppose alshabaab today makes a good rhetorical question. But for me (and for many others) the real argument never was which group to support. Instead it was whose approach will bring Somalia back. And on that account, I believe I am still keeping my both eyes on the ball.

Not only did the dynamics change, but also the nature of the conflict is about to change. Somali conflict is developing a religious dimension that it didn’t have before: an armed takfiri group vs. the rest of the Somalis.

Kashafa kid shocked hearing the Takfiiri word. What did he think Kaligii Muslim meant all this time?
