:D

I think mar haddii taariikhda Soomaaliya laga hadlayo inaan la inkiri karin khaladaadkii ay USC (xitaa kuwii tawradda dhulka la burburiyey baa shaar USC gashtay), maanafaysto, Dawladdii Kacaanka iyo ururrada kale ee Soomaaliyeed ee S-ta la wada baxay ku lahaayeen.

Midda kale the same perception aad ka kaysato tii 60 ayaa tan "aabbe" Siyadna dad ka qabaan.

Waa runtaa degaannada Allamagan ka hadlayo way qatanaayeen, laakiin dadkeedu jago iyo garaaddo kornayl aan wax akhrin karin, nin safaarad la geeyo oo safiirka ilaaliya iyo Land-cruiser kama qatanayn. Waa la qalday oo xitaa haddii wax la boobayo wax nacfi leh lama boobin. Balse runtii dalkan qabiil gaar ahi ma burburin, mana qabo in reer Allamagan oo dhan ay khalad galeen oo dad wanaagsan ayaa ka buuxa Soomaalinnimaduna ku dheertahay, laakiin xoogaa halla soo debco markii towradda wax laga sheego yaan ammaan loogu dhaqaaqin. Maxamed Siyaad (AUN) Ilaah baa kula xisaabtamaya wuxuu khalad geystey, taariikhduna way xusaysaa siduu hoggaankiisu u dhaqmay, qaybtii xumaydna dhaxalkeedii waan haynaa, qaybtii wanaagsanaydna lama inkiri karo.

Some of the colonizers do understand and quickly retreat, while some, because they are stup!d, continue colonizing others, increasing the suffering, deaths, injuries, defeat and humiliation. The people colonized by Abyssinia will be free. Eritrea will be free, and they cannot refuse to let them be free. Western Somalia will be free, and they cannot refuse to grant it freedom. The numerous Abo will be free because this is history, and no one can prevent the sunshine from reaching us.

Barre AUN May 1978

Intii Intaa aaminsan ayaa Soomaliya wax u qaban kara, kuwa albaabada ka soo xirtey walaalahood maanta gadaal uun bey noo wadaan ee ka kaca meesha.

The former Ethiopian ruler Mengistu Haile Mariam, who was President Mohamed Siad's contempary, committed hideous atrocities and genocide, yet after his disposal, Ethiopia, a nation with a population exceeding 70 million people and more than 70 ethnic-groups managed to reconcile after his departure. The reason being? Because the Ethiopian coup was justified as Mengistu Haile Mariam was someone that was
rightfully despised by all Ethiopians collectively for his human-right injustices
.

Haddii run la sheegaayo, sidaa kore oo kale ayaa lagu eryi lahaa Barre. Jabhadaas waxaan dhibaato ahayn kuma soo kordhin Soomaliya. We are all responsible for the failure of our country.

This is true and the repurcusions of the division we had made it worse.

Was it not Jaale Siyaads policies and actions that divided the nation?

^In short, no, he was not to blame for everything! instead you should blame it all on those evil prematured coup d'éta masters. While the great leader was fighting against enemy and conquering far away lands they ahlu coup d'éta were stabbing the nation at the back in the most critical moment of its entire history when the whole nation needed its final push towards setting seal on its victory and reclaiming Western Somalia back. They opened up pandora's box of all domestic problems. Hence the start of destruction and the birth of all those clan-affiliated SS-affixed names like SSDF, SNM, USC, USD, SNF, SPM SLU .......S-this S-that. So reread the history and this time be open-minded.

Somalia was soundly defeated by Ethiopia, and these coups masters were showing their grievances against the withdrawal, afterall didnt Siad kill the likes of Gabeyre to get to the top?

When facing these S'S, his dictatorial tendencies were exposed, instead of listening to grievances against his assasinations, his illegitimate jailing of opposition voices and the evils of some of his crimes against religious figures he instead targeted and wiped out enitre communities. Aidid, Abdulahi yusuf and many others proudly served in the 1975 war and both were colonels.

Also no ones blaming him for everything.

In the early 1980’s, the narcotic plant (khat) was banned and Mohamed Siad’s Finance Minister, Abdulahi Ahmed Addow, closed down the Berbera trade which at that time enjoyed a tax-free exportation, on what he claimed were fiscal grounds. This lead to the rise of the clan-based SNM rebel group who by showing their dissatisfaction with this move by the Finance Minister, decided to start taking arms against the Somali government.[9]

In accordance with the first clan-based rebel group, they started asking for Ethiopian help. Ethiopia, satisfied by this started arming and training them. President Mohamed Siad Barre started issuing calls for them to come to the tables and leave the refuge of the Ethiopian government whose solely aim was to destabilize Somalia. The rebel groups rejected this plea and started conducting hit-and-run tactics on civilian and military positions in a bid to destabilize Somalia.

Jabhado Ethiopian Khat ka dherjiyey ayaan u ogolaaney iney na xoreeyaan. Naga daaye hadalka raqiiska ah.

Intuu u qabtey Somalia, keena mid qabtey. Qaxooti aduunka ugu badan ayey dadkeeni noqdeen (qabiil walba ku jiro), shaleyna wax qabsi iyo horumar ayey ku dhex dabaalanaayeen.

Love him or hate him, you can't deny wadanka heerka sarre uu gaarsiiye.

Shalayba 200 000 somaliya ayaa 1970's u guuray wadamada carabta iyaga oo duruufo dhaqaale iyo dhibaatadii maamulkaa ka cararayey. Baasaboorka ayuu waliba ka xidhay ee tirada Somalida ah ee dibada wareegaysaa kamay yaraateen inta maanta.

The totalitarian regime that unseated the civilian government, the best system of government the nation ever had, should be judged on what it left the Somali people when its tenure was terminated in 1991. By the time the regime was ousted, there was a country in ruin, hundreds of thousands of Somalis dead, destroyed cities, a bankrupt nation and a society forever marred by unimaginable corruption and the worst kind of nepotism. This is how civilized societies pass judgements on their governments by focusing on end results.

Revisionist history and all other “I-hate-reer-hebel-therefore-kacaanka-was-great” nonsense will not erase the regime’s record. No amount of spin will ever alter the regime's ruthless past or bring back the hundereds of thousands who perished in its 20 years of dictatorship. That is history.

Allamagan, haaheey we had no elections. Sarreeye, Halkaa ka wad hawsha kacaanka. Bulsho, Bile. Kacaandiidku ha dhaco. :D

PS: Siyaad Ilaahay ha u naxariisto. I think we should avoid debating about the persona of a man who’s long passed away. Indulging in such futile exercise achieves zero progress in moving forward. My personal take is that this was a government and many folks participated in all its endeavours.

Siyad Barre when he took over in 1969 we had a nation that was united.

When he left in 1991, he left nothing and his legacy is the shambles of a nation that we have today.

He is dead, but to celebrate failure is another example of the tragic effects of this mans action still being felt till today.

Had he left even in 1988, we might have had a fighting chance.

Have you been to xeerooyinka qaxootiga ku yaala Kenya iyo Ethiopia oo ay Soomalidu ka yahiin majority. How about qaxootiga Yemen jooga? Denmark or Holland or kuwa Nepal jooga.

Waxaad isbarbar dhigeyso waa yaab.

Mida kale Somali 1970s ka hor ayey ka guuri jireen wadanka.

Jabhadihii khasaare weyn ayey u geysteen ummada Somaliyeed oo sharaftii aan laheen ayey naga qaadeen; Alshabaab, pirates, warlords, tribalists waa magacyo ka mid ah magacyada na loogu waco maanta.

Barre AUN, wuu tagay ee maxaa la haayaa maanta?

Aqoonta iyo waxbarashada Soomaliyeed aad ayey u liidataa maanta haddii lala barbar dhigo markuu joogey. Dadkii wax barteyna ma joogaan wadanka oo fadhi ku dirir ayey noqdeen. smile.gif

Waxaa isugu soo harey dhul ku-dirir (majority).

The old man is part of the greatest tragedy in our history. He should not be demonised and should not take all the the blame. As a failed son of Somalia he is a reflection of what our leaders should not be.

Siyad Barre

Aydeed

Yusuf Yey

AbdiRahman Tuur

All of these men are warriors of the past, they should be studied by historians and we should all move on.

Celebrating the actions of the false reveloution that robed our generation of our nation is sad and depressing...

Adan Abdulle Osman

AbdiRashid Ali Sharmarke

Abdullahi Isse Mohamoud

Mohamed Ibrahim Egaal

These men and their example is the future of Somali politics..
