Of course that includes Waqooyi Galbeed, Soomaaliya, as a proxy too. Hubka Soomaalida lagu leynaayo maanta Berbera, Soomaaliya, ayuu kasoo degaa bilaa canshuur la'aan.

I hope you are laughing now too. Say, "LoooooooL" about the isma dhaanto iyo dhasheed.

About this thread. An aqoonyahan Soomaaliyeed, Cumar Raabi, wrote a book called Soomaaliyeey, Halkeey Baad Ku Socotaa in 1989. Yes, that is right and it is not typo, in 1989.

The book has this map and the Xabashi expansion of the last century:

Sadly, what he wrote almost twenty years ago now seems a reality, very prophetic. Some Soomaalis might have laughed on his face or thought he went wacko then, laakiinse dhabta ayaa soo baxday maanta.

Dhaqtar Cumar Raabi, who now lives in Ottawa, is still preaching the doom we are heading to as he was preaching that day two decades ago. Soomaali waa isdaba qaban weyday, dad qabtaa helay. Dhulkooda iyo dalkooda kis kis loogu qaatay. Dadka iyo diintiina waaku xigtaa bari. You've to believe that.

I'm talking about Somalia where the ethopian flag is raised and their forces are based Not Somaliland that is free and formed its government long time ago.

Inuu hub berbera ka soo dego ma caddayn kartid markaa waxa kuu fiican inaanad dadka tuhun ku xukumin hadaanad wax caddayn ah haynin. Mise waxaad odhan hebel baa yidhi iyo halkanaa maqaal lagu qoray ??

Who was talking about Laascaanood??????????!!!!!!!!!!

I see that qabiil-hate campaign of this man, has no end

This was not the first time, Mr. Rude is just showing his true colors every time, he has to say something offensive about Laascaanood in every topic, it’s became an uncontrollable obsession

When was the Ethiopian Flag, the Flag of Laascaanood city??? Unless one is suffering from an acute and severe qabiil-hate disease

Wixii xun ba ma xawaa leh (in this case Laascaanood)!!!

War nin yahow anagu kulama qasanano, damiirkuna nama siinayo inaan wax sheegno magaalo soomaaliyeed mar kasta sidaado kale, sida aad u dhaqmasid waa waali ee iska duwee

I consider your hometown Burco, a Somali city like other Somali cities that’s all

What does the red in last row maps stand for? And why is the area that was british somaliland white? Just curious.

I have listened to him, its not doom but rather warning to somalis which i doubt would make a difference on reality. According to the Professor, ethiopia will crumple and somalia and by extension Horn of Africa will become a free Islamic Republic. And to that we can only say Amiin ya Raabi, but its long long long long long long long long long okey u get point long way off.

ps: his points on federalism mainly the clan states such as PL/SL or dividing land/government based on clan i found to be most interesting. We shall see what the future holds, it dont look good not aleast this generation, maybe in 50-100 years somalia will become better a real Qaraan a real united nation. Until then

Back to the topic, I believe at some point before the Ethio-Somali war, during a meeting with Castro,Mengistu and Siad Barre. The late Siad Barre did talk about creating a federation goverment, the two countries uniting up under the banner of Socialism..I will try to find the source, inshaallah will post it.

^ Please do. From what I understand, Siad Barre was many evil things(clan tyrant, anti-Islamic, "ends-justify-the-means") but a collaborationist traitor, he was not.

One quote that's frequently attributed to him, when commenting on the international powers-that-be, is this:

"War shaatiga seeb ayna daheen, oo waa seebnay, oo sarwaalka seeb ayna daheen, oo waa seebnay, ina adeeryaal, kastoomatha seeb ayna daheen oo waa ka diid-nay"(or something to that effect)

Difference between him and the entire spectrum of the Somali 'political' scene(Warlord & Dhabo-dhilif, Incorporated) is this: He refused to take his kastoomo, that last emblem of self-respect, off. They, macsharal Dhabo-dhilifs wal Warlords, already been done taken it off, not to the international powers, but to our ancient and historical enemies: the Xabashis.

Kashaf,I read this stuff long time ago,so there might be some mistakes in my previous comments but here read these.

Qoute:

“Only that evening did we begin to discuss specific problems, at my residence. It was clear to me that we had to be careful because surely the interior minister had installed bugs. This same evening Siad Barre finally talked about Ethiopia. He compared it to the Tsarist Empire and said that Ethiopia was the only surviving colonial power. Thanks to Lenin's wisdom, the Tsarist Empire had disappeared, but it lived on in Ethiopia. He had proposed to the Ethiopians, some time ago, to establish a federation or even a unification of the two countries. Ethiopia had not reacted then, but was now itself proposing this solution. He spoke very enthusiastically about his efforts to reach a solution with Ethiopia. I used the occasion to tell Siad Barre that I would travel to Ethiopia the next day and asked him if he would be willing to meet with Mengistu. He agreed.”

It is the other away around. In a secret meeting said to be in then South Yemen shortly before the war, a pleading Castro met with Siyaad Barre and suggested, since it seemed every other suggestion was not working, that to take the problem out of its core, Soomaaliya and Itoobiya should unite, since especially both countries claimed to be socialists. It was said Siyaad Barre laughed at Castro's politically immature suggestion. Mingiste, the Xabashi leader, was inclined to go to that route.

That was really when the Cuban leader thought Soomaalis were arrogant and not heeding to any of his suggestions. He immediately started convincing the Soviets to support Itoobiya, instead of being, or acting until then, neutral.

Something wrong with the map .... why Somalia is white while the British are still in Somaliland ?

Well, it is blanked because it was during after the defeat of Talyaaniga in World War II. And the map on that particular one has the date 1948. Ingiriiska occupied and ruled, like Waqooyi Galbeed, however, it was then waiting a decision from the then so-called great powers in the newly revamped Qaramada Midooway of what to do with those territories captured from colonial Talyaaniga. Eritareeya is white blank too.
