A Somali community meeting with TFG Speaker ended in fistfight

Awdalnews Network monitoring service, 12 Sept. 2005=

The speaker of the Somali Transitional Federal Government, TFG, Sharif Hassan Sh. Aden, was slightly wounded on Sunday and was treated in a hospital in Fairfax, Virginia, when a community meeting he attended ended up in a fistfight.

According to a report carried by Somaliland.org, a crowd of Somalis protesting against their rejection to attend the meeting blocked Sharif Hassan’s car from approaching the meeting hall. They claimed that the organizers told them that only members of the ************no tribal names please******* were allowed to attend the meeting.

After short but heated negotiations with the Speaker’s entourage, the crowd was allowed into the meeting hall and the speaker alighted from the vehicle and proceeded to the hall.

As the meeting started, two people sitting in the front row started an argument which immediately developed into a bigger fist fight and hurling of chairs at each other. The Speaker who the report said had sustained slight injuries was rushed to a hospital in Fairfax where was given necessary medical care.

Earlier, Sharif Hassan, addressed the Second world conference of Speakers of Parliaments in New York UN on September 8, 2005.

The speaker is not someone with a political agenda of his own but rather a confused and weak guy who doesn't know how to say "No" to his master Qanyare.

Everywhere he goes there seems to be controversy in the air. What do you expect of a "khat merchant" anyway.

Shariff doesn't represent the somali people and he will soon close/cut his ties with the criminal outlaws who occupied our beloved capital city for so long and who reduced it to scrubble. Inshallah Moqadisho will return to its long gone glory soon.

OLOL

Ma-xishoodayaasha and clannish fadhi-ku-dirir loonies will never disappoint you becouse of their innate clannish temperament of defying dignified civility and regal prudence.

Unfortunately it is so dominant that is hard to reform them no matter what you do. Things will never change and some people will never become civilised.

We will wait and see what they do in their so-called MN turf.....i heard they are preparing a large crowd of cedar neighborhood grand-mothers and children to counter-protest the speaker's coming meeting with the somali community in the midwest.

I am always surprised at how this guy labels clannist anyone who holds a differing opinion than he does. You seem to support a warlord just like the people you label clannist do so what you makes you any different? Aren't you a non-somali as you declared here awhile back?
