Yesterday alone Somaliland lost over 100. They attacked the city and locals was ready for them.

So far only a group from Sanaag participated the last battle. Another  volunteer group from Mudug just  came.The rest of  fighting was done by locals and 100%  of the fatalities are locals. Ina Canbaashe has been problematic for the SSC. This has changed the battle field. The next ten days Laascaanood area will be cleared.

It took almost 8 months but it ended with complete destruction and defeat of Somaliland army. This army was equipped with 8 very good shape tanks owned by Somali army. 5 tanks are captured and two are destroyed. Only one missing right now. We wanted this to be done earlier but total defeat is what needed to shot up those hardcore SNM people who believed they won the civil war. This defeat was needed for the peace in the region and the future of the Somali nation. It also a reality check for those who occupied moqdisho and hitchhiked Somali political settlement

Your friend is mistaken. He, like some secessionists, are under the illusion Biixi is holding back. The truth is he is not. His forces were simply chased out hence they resorted to shelling. More importantly, his forces are losing officers and the youngsters doing the actual fighting are not well trained. Cambaashe is not really sitting on the sidelines. He simply has no forces. His men abandoned him the moment Biixi's boys started shelling the city and as soon as Garaad Jama Garaad Ismail made his views clear.

More and more fighters have been  pouring into Las Anod.  Of course, reer Sool's resources are finite, but so is Hargeisa's. But wars always favor locals in the end.

No one can destroy us ,  we only failed to occupy an other man's land ,  something even the USA has failed  in Vietnam and Afghanistan.
