This town needs freedom and peace.

It became the deadliest city, second only to Mogadishu in terms of people targeted for killing. The Somaliland security forces seem to be supervising the killings of the people. It is all about sinster politics.

We all remember the Sanaag clan war sponsored by the government which raged for years until it achieved its goal. A stable Laascaanood voting as they wish could change the balance of power, and that is bad for the Hargeisa clique.

An old poet once said; Gacantii nin lihi goynaya way gumudan-taa (bonified). There is not much anyone can do about when the locals are at each other's throat.

The Somaliland Gov't has put a lot of resources into this and has reduced the rate of assassinations from one per month to one per quarter. Further work needs to be done to get reduced further.

The kids who are coming to the streets throwing rocks - don't destory your city. In the end, your city is that you've got. And Somaliland is not going anywhere because some rocks.

I hope you are right.

It is unthinkble that assassinations and murders couldn't be resolved in a medium size town like Laascaanood. This isn't a huge meteropole with large population. Either the city leadership is incompetent and corrupt or those who supposed to guard are doing the killing.

Why would somaliland  govt murder it’s own. Officials make no sense at all what is there to gain

It is easy. Dirty politics of Kulmiye to disinfranchise the people of Laascaanood and deny the opposition to gain a large portion of the vote.

I have seen this game in Sanaag few years ago when simple clan issue was used for political purposses.
