Russia is all but defeated.

Recommended Posts

The batch of land that Russia gained at great cost and effort is being undone by the Ukrainians at lightening speed.

Russia is now waking up to the technological advance of the West against their dated scrap-yard metal they call tanks and what not.  Having lost the conventional warfare, Putin is now threatening the last resort "Nuke Option". This is how desperate and reckless the despot has become.

I predicted this eventuality 1 week into his adventures.

The retreat came amid fears thousands of soldiers would be encircled in Lyman, and is seen as a significant blow.

The danger of this war is unkown.

Defeat isn't un option for Putin. If he loses the war, he will be deposed and will lose power in Russia, and that is very serious for his survival. As mentioned , he could use low yield nukes.

When he met XI of China in Samarkhand, Uzebekistan, reports indicate that he was asked to conclude the war as quickly as possible. Yet, I do believe before the nukes he will destroy the electric grid and more infrastructure of Ukraine.

It is the only option as far as the reality on the ground is concerned. Putin has no other option.

Of course, he can delay a Ukrainian victory but at what cost?

Western propaganda against Russia isn't news.

There is a lot of moving parts. Let's see where things settle.

The days when centralised single source propaganda machine ruled the world is long gone. These days, upto the second updates and information can be had direct from the ground.

This is the stuff of nightmares for despots like Putin who cannot hide from either the ever monitoring satellites or from the citizen media.

I will not be surprised if Putin is toppled from within Moscow in the next few months.

Once the despot is removed, a new modern Russia which is at peace with its neighbors and within itself (Chechnya/Dagistan etc) will emerge.

The US's goal to encircle China will be completed.

Putin made a mistake he thought ukrain would be a walk in the park kind of mission. Oh boy he was wrong he never thought the Europeans would stand firm on this issue and this was their red line. The nuke thing is not an option as that would be as catostraphic for him as for the world at large .I don’t think he will go that route putin need face saving kinda solution. Also when he called in for the reserves. All Russians deserted him and are leaving the country. To be honest putin is fighting a war that already been lost if he didnt  capture Kiev and installed a regime change kind of puppet government he will never ever be able to do that. In the forseable future the issue in here is who willl blink first . The Europeans or Russians gas’s prices and energy prices are up in Europe  . And Russia is losing money allot of money every day how long will it continue is the question

In dollar terms these run in the billions of USDs. For example a single Sokhoi SU 34 costs 30 - 40 Million USD. A T90 Tank costs around 4 Million dollars.

Cremia is now cut off from main-land Russia. The Cremia Bridge was the lifeline for this area and everything from Fuel, to power, to water came through it.

The Russians are cut off from both sides of the Cremia.

Russian defences collapsing faster than Ukrainians can fill in given their current strategy.

I remember the CNN reporting on TPLF offensive and they claimed that TPLF reached  outside of Adis Ababa. Now it is same story. Russia has an army of 2 million men, 146 million people and budget surpluses.
You are going to be disappointed. Everything points out a Russian win in the end.

You can't compare a lowly African communal conflict with the Russo-Ukrainian war.

The Russians are already defeated, the day they were repulsed from Kyiv. Their face-saving argument of re-adjusting and focusing on Donbas region, is also unattainable. In fact, Russia will not be able to defend Crimea Peninsula - a long time under Russian military control since Soviet times.

The thing is, Russia is no match for the technology that the West has provided to Ukraine - which in itself is dated to the technology that was designed to defeat the Soviet Union - The only modern weaponry that the West has provided to Ukraine is the shoulder mounted Anti-tanks. However, the artillery and rockets are from 1970s and 1980s, outdated, dumb-bombs. But still much more effective to take out Russians.

The Americans are holding off providing the more modern smart weapons.

Actually the American and Canadians had provided long distance artaley to target Russian command and control position with devastating results. Especially the HIMARS system.

Your assesment is premature because so far the Russians had deployed 100,000 forces and another hundred thousand from Donbass militia. The one thing that is boggels the mind is we used to hear that Russia had one million standing army or more, so why do they need to call reserves. On the world military ranking both on air power and land forces , Russia in number 2 before China and behind number one USA.

I am afraid that Putin might make Ukraine like Grozy of 2001. We will be watching the next six to eight weeks. By the new year the sky will clear.

This war is changing more than eastern Ukarine. Infliation, supply chain issues and the global economy is in danger. Both the Euro and British pound are in their lowest ever against the dollar, Saudis and UAE had joined the Russian to cut oil output over 2 million barrels while ignoring Joe Biden.

Money is losing its value, those who have plenty of food productio and energy will survive. One killo of beef is $25 dollars a 20kg of flower is 30 dollars and natural gas is sky rocketing. Most of these so called EU countries surivive because of billions of subsidies from the rich economies of Germany and Nordic countries. Yesterday in Prague, at the Check Republic, they couldn't agree to put a price cap on the Russian fuel. a dozen or so nations had argued that if they put a price cap, evergy prodicers would take their energy to higher price markets which might put Europe even in worse condition they are now.

The slow pace of the war is hurting everyone. REgardless, nothing will be the same after the conclusion of this war
