Is internet spoiling somalian young generation?

Recommended Posts

well we can speculate for ever with this.

I myself use the internet for various reasons, i.e. chat, engaing in forum debates such as these, nd of course for educational and reserach purposes aswell as just leisure i.e. following news and buying products etc etc.

The internet and its very nature does pose certain dangers, however these are universal to all people not just ung somali youths. I once heard that around 70% of internet use was for accessing Pongraphy  , i dont no what that figure is now. But clearly it can be of either beneficial or potential damaging power it all depends on the user

One thing is for sure, Internet is DEFINITELY making addicts out of young somali males.

Take Shujui for example..he has managed to post over 700 replies in da past few months. What compels this young man to read and write on this forum ALL DAY LONG? Imagine he spent the above time preparing for his final year project = a definite FIRST!

So there U go ... Internet is a hazard for young somalis , especially this site.. it should be shut down in da next few months for the sake of young somali students who have to attend IMPORTANT exams.

First it was the radio,

Then Television,

The Cell

Then the Internet

and as its being worked on,

Artifical Intellegince such

that you have a computer with you where every you go and you just speak to it and it obeys your command i.e. Like a holograph screen that appears at the touch of a button and you just speak to it.

My brother and sister would lose sleep over not being able to access the internet (I am guilty of this in the past too!) and fight over it. That would upset them more then any other single catalyst.

Inshallah, when searching for a wife, I think that I might ask the sister inshallah, if she has used the internet and more spefically-MSN Messenger (cursed thing!) ;)

how many parents do u think in a somali community have parental control programs in their internet service????

interest's information is not an 100% accurate, and not always informative. So with a society that doesn't have at this moment a strong cultural connection is the most endangered to be influenced extremely by the internet. Kids now can see pornography, violence, hate web sites, etc..... If those kids that are being exposed to these types of stuffs on daily basis and don't have a strong family values or continous involvement by parents. then yeah internet is spoiling the kids. Now if it comes to me, i wouldn't let my kid use the internet without me supervising until an age where i feel they can be responsible. I would have my computer filtered. But most of all i would talk to my children about the dangers of internet and what is wrong and right in this part. I guess i would have to say, don't be scared of me catching you but be scared of Allah cause he always sees what you do!!
