Broken Wings:

As the morning sun rises and embraces my face,

it warms my cheeks and my heart like erasing mistakes.

I've had detours in my life yet it soothed my soul

guided me forward when I would lose my self control

it has dried my tears when I wept at the demise of my dream

awakened me gently when I slept for days with sorrow

it made dreary days beautiful with glistening rainbows

it disappears every night I’m alone an the pain grows

I’m not guaranteed a tomorrow so when the sun sets

I talk to the stars with words that were left unsaid.

as the sun rises again new hope fills my twisted veins

because I fought through the night and still I remain

I reach out to the sky unafraid of all the unspoken things

only for me to slowly realize I’ve been flying with broken wings.

The Nameless.

He leans against the concrete white wall

wishing he wouldn’t take another fall

his eyes filled with sadness and despair

he hopes he's seen by which is unknown

he lives a game by which he knows is unfair

he enters the loud and the full room unnoticed

hoping he’d at long last get a call of his name

but the deafening silence crushes his hopes

as the people around him do the same

he struggles to push away from the white wall

his bare feet felt heavy on the cold floor

finally he hears a call and his heart sinks

for everyone knows his name won’t be called now.

BOB I must say that your poems had me fixed to the screen. Have you considered publishing your poems ? With some editing, they are certainly publishing material.

Fate's Failure:

He cries to the heavens hoping to attract fate's attention

begging for a break bargaining with his last borrowed breath

his spirit broken into million pieces like the country he calls home

abandoned by kindness and disowned by his own kind

his mind is polluting his thoughts with delusional reasons

seasons come and go except for his misery and sorrow

tomorrow is a far away hope for this defeated commoner

he wails with pain hidden from the prowling eyes of sin

he's alone again and his best companion is loneliness

he converses with his shadows and confesses his guilt

verses lose their meanings through the lies of the masses

he's made of homeless and walks bare feet on the broken glasses

imprisoned by life and punished for being born into this world

his body is weary for age hasn't forgotten about him

wisdom he possesses not as he professes his own demise

sick of selling his soul to his wishful yet misleading fantasies

he yearns for death for life's irony is long lost to him

bless the man who never asked to be pardoned

partnered with failure he's forced to live by loss

forsaken by all beings for he's a cursed human being

they's would rejoice his destruction with wild celebration

for he's to be fate's secret failure.

No Friend Of Mine:

Spoken to silence and emptiness again

the words echo off my wall into loneliness and shame.

the stillness of my being awoken from my sleep

finding darkness in my soul lonely tears I weep

my home became my imaginary paradise within hell

pardon my broken tone for somalia is my long lost home

empty words of innocence of cruelty and of shame

crying out loud into the night sky with agony again

painful memories so deep and emptiness I've known

I reach for understanding just to find that I'm alone

desperate cries of hope in silence never letting go

gory pictures of home country so vivid they blind me

scared to dream for the fear of seeing nightmares

wounds so deep inside me the pain I only know

sadness has engulfed me bitter to the end of my being

pieces of my innocence shattered by my cruel own kind

deep inside my innocence is lost it took that from me

in this world of broken hearts there's nothing left in me

for I finally found out that fortune is no friend of mine.

My Dream:

You are so pretty and breathtaking in your black abaya

the image of you left me with thoughts of chocolate covered honey

so intrigued by your essence that I had to write this

when you don't need to show off your natural elegance

flawless when you walk and every time you talk

through Islam you show the world your intelligent elements

I've learned to love the mind and the body will follow

distinct Somali beauty like you just inspires my tomorrow

sheds new light onto my yesterday and elates my today

I’ll just pray and thank God that you looked my way

I’ll confess, that abaya was the best thing you could wear

to protect your baby-soft skin and everything therein

from the lustful stares of men with no modesty and shame

I want to thank you for being a fine example of muslim woman

physically, you are radiant and stunning without the “mask”

your choice of words remind me of how creative you can be

every sentence you speak enlightens my imaginative mind

spiritually, you respect yourself and demand respect from others

carrying yourself with such confidence and grace

straightforwardness and politeness at the same time

a gift given to you by your beloved mother

speechless, because I’m hit with all this at one time

not to mention the uniqueness of your taste in style,

thinking this type of woman will be the mother of my children

I just close my eyes and smile for that's what dreams are made of

so pretty in black that I’d give my life to protect you from harm

but before you go, would I see you in my dream again tomorrow?

Sorry I didn't write about you lately and Sorry that I don't think about you as much as I used to, Sorry your voice doesn't soothe my soul anymore, Sorry your sight doesn't please my eyes as much as it did yesterday when I was yours only, Sorry if your name doesn't roll off my tongue any longer and No I don't hate you, God...No, you know my heart is incapable of such evil especially when it comes to you as I still love you and always will as faithfully as any human can love anybody dead or alive but we both need to accept for the sake of our sanity that we are not meant for one another and please forgive me, my memories of you are fast fading and I pray to god that yours of me are too.

^^^Through simple wishes we manage the days

hopeful dreams created by only you and me

two hearts separated by the distance but joined by souls

through our fate tangled up in deep and happy thoughts of things

our lives will no longer be without the love from me and you

to keep us smiling as the day goes through

our hearts ache each day with the same pain

singing the same sorrowful songs of loneliness

knowing this distance between us cannot be erased.

^^^Good Bye.

My Lonely Widow:

She lies in her bed and stares into the moonlit sky

where all the mystical stars shine with the utmost glory

wondering how would it feel to reach out and touch a cloud

would it be possible to take a piece of heaven home with her?

in realization, she lies beside her cold single bed at night...crying dry tears

tears that cut through her soft pillow and flood it with sorrow

is she really feeling this low and lonely or am I just writing it?

ideas spring into her head but she don't hold the key to her heart

it was stolen by the 40 thieves and sold to the black market

feelings obsorb her fragile soul with the upmost serenity

as she lay asking what is her purpose on this planet..this universe

this third rock from the far away galaxies hits her

now the sun shines and she cries...cries with all her heart.
