just the other day i went to visit a friend of mine who was sick, and i couldn't believe what i saw! her mother was lighter than i was! it made no sense what so ever, i mean my aunt(out of respect she's my aunt) is beautiful and i always complimented her on her flawless dark skin (seriously hot shade). now she's just fake. :( makes me sick .*gag*

women have issues...far too many issues.

its odd though, her legs were still dark...and so were her toes.

Oh kids give it a rest now would ya...

to each his own... if someone wants to damage their skin by using bleach by all means.. go ahead... I mean think of it this way ... they could be drinking it.

let people do what they want as long as they are not hurting anyone.. or themselves... so if it makes them happy and they feel confortable that way then why not...

don't get me wrong ... though skin is skin.... and I love dark skinned women that look like they are cut of ebony.... but the social pressures that are put on dark skinned poeple by their own communities is hard to deal with sometimes....

especially when it's from close family members and friends telling you all your life that you would be really pretty even though you are dark... or for a dark ....blah blah blah...

I could kinda understand why they do it... its the equilvalent of brown mousy haired s dying thier hari ... because gentlemen prefer s.... or the whole hell notion...

I don't see the problem in wanting the best for your son.

Cajiib walaahi.

What sort of warped thinking is that delta? This is getting worse by the post-I'm sitting here at the edges of disbelief. Since when did light skin equate to best?

Anyway, like I said, not all mothers are so shallow, to be attributed to such thinking is meel ka dhac ;)

Lastly, bit of advice-be proud of your colour ;)

What kind of wrap thinking is that?

Somali's!!! And heck I don't blame them.

Don't fall of your sit.

You see Rahima, during my spare time I socialise with Somali women. And jesus, don't they gossip. You would think their mouth would drop of any minute but it never does. They talk, talk, talk, talk...

You could imagine me, I hang on their every word. And they never fail to amaze me.

Oh, don't you worry about that. I alread am. Always have been, always will be.

You sure about that. You do realize that you a black woman. Yes black! . Don't fall off your seat now, looks like that might come as a shock to you ;)

Also you should consider spending your time with thinking people, not the daah dirac and dahab type of women ;)

They entertain me during my weekends. Their mentality is somewhat disappointing though. They tell me to get married. They also tell me about their lives and how they all got married at the age of 15. Had a child at the age of 16. Blah blah then the war ruined their lives. They teach me about tribes. When they are feeling nice we play dress ups. God bless them!

Somewhat? Honey it’s qashin, not worth your time. You really should ditch dumarkan. They want you married for all the wrong reasons, to be in the same hole they so wish they could get out of- half of them are sad excuses for mothers often neglecting their children and placing their desires as I mentioned above the needs of their children. 15?16? honey add at least another 5 (in some cases 10) years and that is more like it, it’s the in thing these days and if anything they ruined their lives. They could still make something of themselves but they chose to pollute the minds of young women like yourself, when they teach you about useless things like tribe (which I can bet is in bad light), don’t encourage you to better yourself and just as bad indoctrinate you with backward thinking like light is more beautiful.

Women, last time I tell ya. Before you turn out in the same sad sad state these women are, run, run as fast as you can go and never look back . When you are around qashin you’ll start smelling foul is ya know what I mean ;)

Sad, to see people with a Fd up mindset. I personally prefer darkskinned Somali women over lightskinned Somali women. Nothing is more unattractive to me in a women, than one who clearly poisoned her skin with bleaching products. Well, aside from smoking of course.
