Poem - I am Warlord

Recommended Posts

I am a Hustler

I am a Holy Man

I am a Marine

I am a Moryaan

I am a Dottore

I am a Driver

I am: what I wannabe

I am a Warlord

I prey on the weak

Steal from the poor

Rob from the dead

Kill and rape

Pillage and burn

I am a Warlord!

I inject pain

Administer sorrow

I Relish the agony of grieving mothers

The lament of defeated fathers

The vanishing glimpse of a wasted child

I am a Warlord!

I am a locust

I chew on cables and concrete

Munch on signatures of history

Wreck havoc on monuments and museums

Harvest gold and silver from the dead

I am a Warlord!

I am a bulldozer

I destroy and devastate

Steal the gifts of God

Harvest the birds and the bees

Poison the seas

Cut the trees

I Cultivate hunger and hate

I am a Warlord!

I Sow and sell substance that kill

Peddle doomed aspirin to cousins and kin

Trade dead-trees carcasses to Shaytaans and Sheikhs

I am a Warlord

When implored to stop

Told not to kill and steal

Not to destroy and rape

Told not to reap the wrath of God

I shrug and laugh

Roar and roll

Peek at my crystal ball

See an enemy bleep

I flash my clan card

Dawn my Reer 1 jacket

Peek at my crystal ball

And yell Tola=eey! Tola=eey!

Cousins and kin!

Sons of mighty men of yore!

In Mogadishu and Minnesota

Resist and fight!

The enemy is near!

The end is here!

I am a Warlord

When the dust settles

And the dough is down

The bullet scarce

I flash the peace sign

Recite the Quraan

Don my three-piece suit

Jump on a plane

And call upon the Man

I am a Warlord!

When I return to my den

I return to what I do best

Prey on the weak

Steal from the poor

Rob from the dead

Kill and rape

Pillage and burn

I am a Warlord!

It is now thirteen,

since this war begun.

Young and old were lost,

to the rule of the gun.

The war will never end,

till the warlord is detained.

We have been influenced,

by those whose face is stained

The hate will never cease,

till we're ready for peace.

Asalaamu Aleikum Wr Wb

S.S Waaw indeed that was a very powerful & best describtion of the warlords. well done.

Jamaal good poem too, i like it.

This peom bellow discribes todays young men back home, the problems they face & how they become moryaans

I look up to my tribe

I look up to the warlords

Since my youth they are my roll model

I grew up learning how to handle a gun

How to rope

How to rape

How to kill

I was told to be a good Muslim

You rape, kill & rope

I was taught to please my leader

They told me I am in jihad

As long as I obey what my leader says

Guns & bombs become music to my ears

I feel sense of joy when I see blood

It gives me sense of pleasure seeing others sever

Qaat become the cure of my problems

Guns become the only thing I obey

I Disrespect the elderly

I have no symphathy to anyone

Roped people whenever I wanted to

Raped many innocent girls

Knowing as long as I have this gun

No one can touch me

All my financial problems gone

I was provided qaat

I was provided food

As long as I keep killing, raping & roping people

Often I get injured no one cares

I lay under the trees not even a shelter

I hardly have medical treatment

I sever & sever

When I recover all the sudden they interested in me

I do all the dirty work for them

But no one gives an attention when I mostly needed

My colleagues die, while killing people

Warlords don’t give dam

They berry them & go on

I hate what I do

I know I am useless to them when I am injured or died

But I will always be servant to them

Because this is the only way

I know how to live my life without starving

As long as I do what I do best

And as long as I am loyal to my tribe

I am a winner

Maybe I could be the future senior leader

Very fitting!

----------------------------------------

They welcome him into their homes

But do not think of the many homes he destroys

They cheer for him

But they do not hear the screams

They shake his hands

But they do not see the blood

To them that was yesterday, but for us it is today

How can you support something you helped destroyed?

How can you smile when it’s all but deceitful wiles?

How can you forget when you were not forgiven?

I would like to respond with a kindly meant (although somewhat cynical) rebuttal.

Somaalidaa waxee ku mahmahdaa..."Islaan fadhida lagdin lafududaa".

Your criticism of 'our' warlords(poetic as it may be)is misplaced, to say the least.

Many Somalis criticize warlords without actually realizing that the warlords are simply a bi-product of the chaos that has enveloped Somalia in the last two decades or so. You can all recall, that warlordism only began right after the fall of the republic and was an unknown phenomena previous to that. These men(warlords) are simply trying survive the anarchic state of affairs in Somalia. So I suggest, y'all take this, all talk- no action, hypocricy elsewhere.

How many of you can honestly say that you have done something positively tangible to better the situation back home? Not many! And to use the warlords as a scapegoat is very irresponsible.

Unless, we put our tribal differences aside, we shall never recover from the awful abyss our country is in. The lack of motivation to confront tribalism is almost as crippling as a lack of ability to fight it in Somalia. And I great majority of us are guilty of this.

So then, lazy namby-pambies; quit being so insecure with yourselves; and stop relaying your frustrations onto our 'beloved' warlords. They aint the only source of our troubles. Confront your inner demons, and only then shall we get back on our feet.

^^^Beyond belief - I thought no body would steep that low in here - not even my friend general duke (cos he denies warlordism)

I Can for I have never participated, supported, nor gave tacit consent to what is happening in home country. on the contrary, i have do everything possible in my power to reverse (and quite successfully)the effects of your

'beloved' warlords

who

prey on the weak

Steal from the poor

Rob from the dead

Kill and rape

Pillage and burn

or

inject pain

Administer sorrow

Relish the agony of grieving mothers

The lament of defeated fathers

The vanishing glimpse of a wasted child

I pray you NOT serious about what said in there

Now, I did not ask you about what you have never done, but rather, whether you have done anything worthwhile back home that might help simmer the conflict down.

Zilch right? Thus, leave my warlords alone!

Dear Cyber net Warlord,

I have answered your question re what I have done in the following sentences

on the contrary, I have done everything possible in my power to reverse (and quite successfully) the effects of your "'beloved' warlords"

For example I have set up and financial run two schools in Somalia.

Can your warlords say that they have done that? - Don’t bother answering it - we know what they have done, it is all in the above poem.

What surprises me is that you actually condone what they do as described in the poem above – your stances is sickening and worrisome , even if it is was only intended to get me irritate.
