What should the SNA, police, and the government do with defectors?

Recommended Posts

MMA,

The so-called opposition are now demanding the firing of the SNA leadership. This is more than an election.

Tallaabo,

The opposition could have easily talked to the SNA leadership and not undermine it by asking their fellow tribesmen to vacate their posts. The "badbaado qaran' militias are now setting isbaaro cuz the men who called up on them won't pay them and the army They deserted can't trust them.

The militia is led by Indhacade.

It is not a new demand, Deni & Madobe were asking for this for months now.

There must be impartial security leadership if we are to move forward. Security have everything to do with free & fair elections.

Che, first of all, stop spewing lies and try to remain objective for once. Secondly, pray tell—  what’s wrong with insisting that the Army officers who have allowed themselves to become compromised and have been used for the political whims of Useless Farmaajo &Co. should be fired?

Why do you want to blind yourself to the fact that it is important for the national army to stay the heck out of politics?

Danab and Gorgor have been disciplined. No units from the two abandoned their bases or vocally sided with any group or person. Elements within Haramcad Police Units did defect. There's a Duufan, these are new units and mostly derived from Bay, Bakool,  SSC, Galmudug, and Gedo. They remained loyal.

As a pre-condition, the opposition now wants the PM and SNA to reincorporate the defectors. It is worth noting the majority of the fighters on the opposition side are clan militias that were incorporated into the fledging SNA.

Che, you make it seem as if the security forces have a unified command structure and the President is their commander in chief and thus they have committed mutiny.

But this far from the actually reality. Danab, Gorgor, Harimacad, Alpha, Darawiish, etc don’t have a unified command structure and the commanders of those units take their commands from either their foreign trainers/supervisors or from their clan militia chiefs, as the clan militia’s are still in tact but wearing badges and uniforms of specific forces.

If HSM beefs with specific clan folks, be assured the same thing can happen again as he isn’t their actual commander in chief.

The Somali civil war isn’t over, it has just cooled down to a cold conflict. And Somali’s really need a genuine and real reconciliation and it’s not business as usual, and one can just continue as if nothing happened. sorry for repeating this, but it’s important we realize this, the sooner the better.
