What should the SNA, police, and the government do with defectors?

Recommended Posts

Danab and Gorgor have been disciplined. No units from the two abandoned their bases or vocally sided with any group or person. Elements within Haramcad Police Units did defect. There's a Duufan, these are new units and mostly derived from Bay, Bakool,  SSC, Galmudug, and Gedo. They remained loyal.

As a pre-condition, the opposition now wants the PM and SNA to reincorporate the defectors. It is worth noting the majority of the fighters on the opposition side are clan militias that were incorporated into the fledging SNA.

Meesha dowladi ma joogtee ciyaarta yareeya. Acting like this is Siyaad Barre era. The defectors will go back and get their salary no matter what. Clan loyalty trumps everting.

The few Haramcad paramilitary police who went with their bililiqodoon leaders like Saadaq Joon were trained specifically to secure Banaadir in 2017. And I guess Reer "Unugaaleh" laga soo aruuriyey the majority then.

The later Haramcads and other forces were not and that is why they are loyal dowladda dhexe.

Waa in gacan bir ah lagu qabtaa.

These ignorant soldiers are being used as propaganda tools by Farmaajo. Why would any decent man serve the personal interests of a politician? It is one thing to defend a country against an external enemy but there is no honour in being a slave to a corrupt power hungry regime. I have more respect to those soldiers who left their ranks and joined the opposition.

Tallaabo,

What constitutes a dictatorship? Someone who  extend terms, locks up journalists, jails opposition candidates?

Priority #1, they shouldn't be receiving government salaries. They should never again have the same level of honour/care as the soldiers who they deserted at the front lines - Let Dahir Alasow / Mahad salad stop with these daily 2 camel charity charade and provide them with full salaries to their M@@ryans...

You could say same about the Farmajo loyalists who kill and maim to see him in the helm. This ******** have just saved the country from illegal extension and one man's dictatorship for years to come. History will judge them kindly. Imagine if the SNA stopped Siyad Barre before he overthrew an elected government. Today we could have been in better shape than we are. But I am believer in destiny.

I know the Guulwades are angry but rest assured this is good for Somalia's future stability. No man will ever contemplate of illegal extension. One man one vote is only way a person can stay in power that needs to be written in blood. It is about time the disgruntled small clans must embrace that keeping power out from the bigger clans through dictatirship and fake nationalism does not work and will never work.

Yes!

But just because he failed and was defeated militarily does not mean we can discount the attempted dictatorship.
He is a dictator but without the power to kill, arrest and maim his opponents just yet.
we are against him getting to that stage in which he cannot be stopped, it is better he is stopped today.

That is why we call him a dictator.

Thanks, I couldn't have said it better.

The Farmaajo devotees want to see the creation of a slave army which can be ordered to do the bidding of the failed dictator in Villa Somalia. They would love to see soldiers who when ordered to kill and maim their own people wouldn't think twice about doing so. In simple words, they want the recreation of a f@q@sh army. Thank God, not all the young Somali men in uniform are as gullible today as they were in our dark days of total tyranny.
