It is not bad when you have a different view and present it here ,,, but the problem is when you label it Islam and what to re-write the religion.

VERY DISGUSTING INDEED ........

Blessed

Roobleh, Roobleh,Roobleh, have you let the lights and carols get to you. Balo!!

There's a HUGE difference between tolerance and celebrating.

This is what Allah says about dealings with Jews and Christians, "Do not argue with the People of the Book unless it is in the politest manner, except for those of them who do wrong. Say: 'We believe in what has been sent down to us and what has been sent down to you. Our God and your God is [the same] One, and we are Muslims before Him'" (Quran, 29:46).

Errr. and you interpret this as? Why the need to debate, if we are to put our faith aside and sing of jingling bells and baby lords??

Read the rest of the Quraan, particularly Surah Al Baqarah on what else Allah says about Jews and Christians. Debating with them in a respectful manner, being kind and generous towards them, does not mean acceptance of their kufr and the falsehood they attribute to Allah and His Prophet-Messenger, Jesus (AS).

According to Ibn e Saad and Ibn Hisham(Islamic historians), Prophet Mohammad allowed bishop Usquf and his followers from Najran in Yemen to pray in his own Mosque in Madinah, and the Prophet told them, "conduct your service here in the mosque. It is a place consecrated to God."

Do you even know the purpose of their visit and what prompted it? The Prophet (SA) has sent them a Sahaabi to call them to Islam. He has asked them to either choose Islam or to keep their faith and pay jizyah. They responded to the Prophets invitation by sending back their own delegation to discuss those two options. Off course, the Prophet (SAW) welcomed them and treated them with respect and kindness because that was an integral aspect of his Islamic manners. However, he (SAW) continued to invite them to Islam.

It was a very interesting and historic moment which highlighted our Messengers (SAW) and Islams none compromising stance on the position of Jesus, Alleyhi Sallam...The verse where Allah has commanded Messenger (SAW) to challenge them to invite the curse of Allah on who is lying about Jesus was revealed then. I'll dig up the full story and post it, if you are interested. smile.gif

Chrismas is a holiday to commemorate the birth of Jesus, peace be upon him, and is not an ancient pagan practice

First of all, without even considering the Islamic position we need to look at the Christian stance on Christmas. Many Christians don't celebrate it because, there is no evidence that Jesus (AS) was born on December 25th or even during winter. Secondly, there is no command in the bible on the celebration of his birth, it was not the practice of Jesus (AS) or his followers and the early Christians and even the Orthodox and other Christian groups of our age.

Thirdly, the carols, trees, decorations, Santa and commercialism are all innovations introduced into the Christian faith and not a part of it and many Christians see it as such!!!

It came about pretty much in the same manner that the Milaad-u-Nabi palaver surfaced in our own religion. People just mixed existing (pagan) celebrations and gave it a makeover.

The biblical teachings of Jesus (AS) go against what we believe. Allah, has revealed verses in the Quraan addressing the falsehood contained in their books which we see an insult to Allah as they have set up Jesus as a partner with Allah and we are forbidden from venerating our Messengers in that manner. With this in mind, why on earth would we encourage and support a celebration based on such falsehood?? How can you on one hand tell a Christian his faith is wrong an on the other congratulate him on it and celebrate with him?

The have every right to celebrate as they wish and practice their faith freely but we have a responsibility to our own faith.
