Habib Koite of Mali comes to mind when I think about African music. I was traveling with a group of people when an Ivory Coastian guy inserted this CD in which the song I Ka Barra captivated my attention. It invoked something for some reasons about a childhood experience, though I had no idea the meaning of it until now. And believe it or not, I don't listen to music nor watch TV's, but I guess growing up in Somalia and the strong taste of what good music is all about resurges that feeling of youthful days.
