I already knew that 1+1=3, so what is the BIG deal here, are there people who don't know simple calculations!!!

^^^ sky, u got 3 faces there, that proves the calculation, well, that is when u look in another angle!

Answer:

Let a = b

Multiply both sides by a

a^2 = ab ( ^2 = 2nd power or squared )

subtract b^2 from both sides

a^2 – b^2 = ab – b^2

factor

(a+b)(a-b) = b(a-b)

the (a-b) cancels out from both sides so….

a+b=b

since a = b then substitute a for b

a + a = a

add

2a = a

now say let's say "a" is equal 1

2 = 1

add 1 to both sides…

3 = 1 + 1

simple algebra without changing any rules

Thank you for the great proof. However, it is entirely bogus. The (a-b) cancels out implies you are dividing by (a-b) on both sides. Well, then sir, since a = b, that means you're dividing by 0 (zero). The result of the division (by zero) is not determinable. Try it on any calculator. That's where the proof goes to hell.

Other than that, great job.

Ofleh

^^^^ that was the kind of angle I was looking in, well u can keep going on looknig in many angles to find the right answer, but Lake-Da-Agony's algebra is not enough!
