Somalia's young guns see an end to Somaliland/Somalia dispute

Recommended Posts

Cheeseman has waken up the people of Mogadishu. His dictatorial regime (albet powerless and on foreign life support), has rekindled a lot of forgotten history, specially the main clans of Mogadishu.

Come next gov't in Mogadishu next year, the idea of 'Unity' will be finally put to its resting place.

Its the same in every country.

Nobody wants to pay in blood to keep a country borders created some how at some time especially by somebody else.

The Progress in Ethiopia went like this:

During the Emperor and Mengistu "unity" no matter how fake was something no one can question.

During Meles not only can you question, but you can also speak against it if you have some legal basis.

Taiwan was the one talking unity 24/7 and PRC was open minded. Now its reversed in just 2-3 generations and not even one generation after Sang Shiek death.

The older generations are green with envy and jealousy. They remember a time when they used to enjoy the best that life had to offer. And now that they are sandwiched between Alshabab and Foreign occupational forces each bombarding them from both ends. They look at the peace and stability of Somaliland from a crooked perspective.

However the younger generation do not have that attachment to those good old days. All they remember and know what you see today. So when I read these young generation from Mogadishu or elswhere from South Somalia make comments on Somaliland Youtube videos, they are worlds apart from the older generations.

Your right the young generation in Mogadishu or in Italian Somalia. Have  no feelings towards somaliland. They don't know it. It doesn't concern them. When somaliland seperated many of them were not even born. The old gen believe in a forced union to fight till the last bullet.
